Two stages quadrilateral lengthening

5. Combined tibia (4 cm) and femur (4 cm) lengthening three weeks apart, followed by rebreaking of femur and tibia with the same PRECICE in place one year later with a second lengthening of 4 cm in each bone (up to 16 cm in height; cost $280,000 USD, PRECICE-Stryde)

It's offered by doctor Paley and it's possible 16cm at total. If you have money and time, do you think it's a good idea?

$280,000 seems really steep. But safety should always be your number one concern. Just go for it.

With doctor Giotikas, it is 120 thousand euros.

I'm thinking if its possible, I could change the nail of the femur and lengthen 10cm (4cm+6cm) in this segment. Plus 8cm in tibia, totalizing 18cm.

I believe I have between 1,65m and 1,68m.
I don't know my sitting height.

I don't care a lot about proportion and I'm sedentary ex-smoker, I don't care about my athletic abilities. I just don't want to be crippled.

Alright, so you're about around 5'5", and adding 18cm will put you exactly at 6'0". I believe the cutting point for lengthening safely is I'd say around 7cm per segment. 8 is very achievable though. Many successful surgeries have been done for patients who wanted to lengthen more than 7cm. But then you reach 9-10cm per segment and that's when danger really occurs.

Quote from: Dr Paley]Q: Is it possible to change the nail in the femur making it lengthen 4+6 cm totalizing 10cm in the femur (and 18cm at total)?
A: The issue with that is your soft tissues will not tolerates that much of increase in such period of the time. The best way is to come and have a consultation with Dr. Paley to further discuss in details. [/quote]

We do offer the two staged quadrilateral lengthening with Stryde nailas described in the link . The total cost currently is 119250 euro.
We remain at your disposal for any further information and assistance.
Q:Is it possible to change the nail in the femur in second stage making 10cm in femur lengthening?
A:It can be done. It might be difficult though, because of muscle length reserve restrictions, which will be assessed before the surgery. We remain at your disposal for any further information and assistance.
