I have Long Femur and short Tibia, so i want to lengthen my Tibia more than Femur


lets say i would ONLY do 8cm for Tibia, would it be possible to recover without constant knee pain?

Knee pain has to do with the incision of the nail through the knee. If it is incised through hip or pure external, it's not a problem (in most cases).

The problem with 8cm in tibia is you will most likely need achilles tendom lengthening and many people say ATL screws you.

Knee pains can occur even without IM nails
When bones are lengthened, the tension of ligaments increase also and can cause any joints pain and arthritis

Dr. Parihar, expert in tibia construction（Lon and pure external), In his website, the advantage and disavantage of pure external and Lon could be found. Which is safer also could be found. If using Precice nail he would do it in femur.

Dr. Franz, expert in tibia construction（Lon /Latp)and pure external)also said about 15% knee pain chance with Lon/Latn/Internal In tibia. It could be found in Dr. Franz post in this forum. Considering the pure external  safer than Lon.

Dr. Pili and Dr. Catagni in Italy , they are expert in tibia construction, but still using pure external no matter they could use Precice nail or Lon.
