10 cm on tibia
« on: December 03, 2018, 07:41:46 AM »

Is it possible to elongate to 10 cm on a tibia bone with 2 operations?

Why not do both femur and tibia for a combined 10cm?

You should be fine with one op, it might give you 8-10 cm on one segment, maybe that would be enough? Two surgeries double the cost.

You obviously have not taken the time to read the valuable information and diaries on this forum. And also you seem very stubborn. So let me make this very clear to you and everyone else. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO LENGTHEN  8 to 10 cm in one operation. it is a selling point that many shady doctors do. Im sorry but cost doesn't mean a damn thing in front of safety. Its safety first. If I were a moderator I would mute you for a long time for putting peoples live in danger.

You could elongate 10cm in Tibias with 2 surgeries.  But I wouldn't recommend it either for the reasons of proportions and bio-mechanics.  The imbalance you would create may create joint problems for you in the future.  If your femurs are genuinely longer and you have measured then you may be ok.  Try and leave a year between the two surgeries and start doing flexibility exercises straight away.

Seems like you havent taken the time to do enough research either. Doing 10 cm on tibia regardless of one or 2 operations is plain stupid. Thats too much lengthening for a single bone. Not to mention doing so much on just 1 bone segment will put you way out of proprtions. Unless you have actual xray measurements of your bones dont come on here saying your femur to tibia ratio will not be compromised by lengthening only tibias by 8-10cm.

Who cares about proportions? The most important thing is to gain height. You can train your back and your wingspan will grow, so i dont see any problems regarding proportions.

no, they wont if we start ignoring.
There was another psycho here named edvard6, he is now less active. So it works (given my luck, he will probably wake up now).
In the beginning they will create alot of threads, but when they realize people arent answering, they will find old forums where they get more attention and move on.

Look, there are many people with mental issues (schizophrenia, extreme aspergers etc.) . Most western countries focus on integrating these people into the society as part of the treatment. While in other countries like China, India they will be "frozen" outside and eventually die out. But I suspect these psychos Bones, Grow3, want2growtaller,edvard6, iso9 etc are from western countries where they are given computer, home and internet as part of the treatment program. So when these people, who have no friends only a caretaker that does checkup once a week, spend their time, they spend it online.

I am not going to speak for others but I have a strict policy, time is too valuable to spend it on these schizophrenia patients. Its my time, so I have started ignoring them.

That's a bit harsh I think.  Wants2growtaller has definitely started some interesting threads and she has helped the forum get more focused again after a long period where Incels, facists and fascists had taken over.  As for the others I have changed my opinion even of Bones - these guys can introduce serendipity and bring concepts and ideas that are quite interesting.  Some are just entertaining for their argumentativeness.  The mogging journals are quite funny.  There is a tendency in these forums for calling out one poster or another as a nutter, psychopath etc.  The truth is most of us are here because we are actually contemplating paying anywhere between 30,000 to 200,000 dollars for breaking both legs to become taller by a few inches.  Yes we are nutters too!

Hey man thanks for the positivity. I was onlye mean to that girl because I didn't want people thinking its okay to do 8 to 10 cm lengthening in one surgery. I mean she was told that iwas too dangerous. ANd if people see her posts they might want to try to do that without doing much research. I honestly enjoy this forum. I like how its self moderated. But people pretty much self moderate themselves. There definitely are interesting people. I really like the threads where people give so much information about limb lengthening. ANd as for yourself I feel your username suits you. You definitely a serene, positive, rational, unified soul. And it shows in your writing. But seriously though not a good idea to stigmatize people with REAL mental health illnesses.. like how TinyTL did.

I know people with mental illness, the worse thing you can do is ignore them it's very dangerous it's best to address their issues and then get them help ASAP whatever it may be. usually I try to get them to understand just how delusional they are and the worst part is someone even with mild schizophrenia is often absolutely convinced that what they're experiencing is real and it can feel hopeless. In the case of these people who reject stats and deny their cognitive biases I'm not convinced it's hopeless for them. I'm not exactly sure what it'll take to convince these people, but I'm sure it's possible.

No offense. But I don't think you are in no position to diagnose and provide treatment for people with mental health llness. THis isn't a mental health forum.

I said I know people with mental illness, I didn't say I treat people with mental illness. I'm not sure if you read my post, but I did say get them help ASAP? Then I gave an example of what I have experienced when dealing with people who have schizophrenia. Then after that I briefly talked about my frustration with people who ignore stats and have cognitive biases but often ignore them. Btw I'm a victim of cognitive bias too, but I try my best to be aware of these things where as others like grow3 and anyone else who rejects stats in this forum tend to double down whenever I try to point out their errors in assessing other peoples height. If my posts are pretty hard to read I'll adjust them accordingly to make them more palatable.

You did not have to be mean. If you have formed your own opinion about doing 2 surgeries (you think it is healthier), why do you ask others and being mean to someone who has different opinion than you?

Because peoples lives are at risk. And you were told several times on a different thread of doing 10 cm in ONE operation. This operation is not a joke. Sorry if i hurt your feelings but its for people who read the threads and dont think its okay to lenghtne more than the reccommended amount. so i repeat 10 CM IN ONE OPERATION IS DANGEROUS AND PEOPLE CAN DIE.

Lengthening 10cm tibia is way too dangerous even if done in two separate operations
It’s better to have consultations with good CLL doctors before deciding lengthening amount
Especially if you are pettit woman, cannot expect too much

10cm lengthening in one operation on one segment is a really bad idea - more so for the tibia.  You are unlikely to die from it but nothing good will come of it.  It is almost certain that you will not be able to do it with all the will in the world because after about 6cm things will get really very difficult and painful indeed.  As a general rule you can just about lengthen a segment about 30% of the original length after which you will run into very serious problems.  So my advice would be to get an x-ray and measure the tibia length and then calculate 30% of the measured length to determine the absolute maximum that you will be able to lengthen.

The only person I have heard of that has managed that amount of lengthening of Tibia is Apotheosis on the old forum.  He did 10.5cm on the Tibia and 9.5cm on the Femurs.  But his starting height was 171cm and he was one very determined individual.  His final height was 189.5cm so he most have lost some height during consolidation.
