Let's face it, WE ARE WHAT WE EAT!
So just a quick post about maintaining a good diet during your lengthening phase. Remember lengthening is NOT just about the surgery. The four phases as I've previously mentioned are: Preparation, Surgery, Lengthening and Strengthening. I talked about the first phase here:
http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=9122.0I am sure most of you maintain a good diet, but you'd be surprised at some people's eating habits these days, which to them is 'normal'. If you're going to invest all this time and money to enhance your life, at least give your body the proper nutrients. Downing chips, chocolate and cola all day will not do you any favours and is a sure recipe for bone non-formation/malformation.
Understand the difference between food and 'food like products'. There are a many good documentaries about food out there. My favourites are Food Inc and Foodmatters. There are others:

You can research the benefits of raw milk yourself. There are many articles and videos online. Here's one:
https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/05/10-things-you-should-know_n_211715.htmlRaw milk is not freely available to buy in most western countries, thanks to cretinous organisations like the FDA and their equivalent. In the UK, for instance, it cannot be sold in shops, but can be delivered to your home by an approved dairy. Here in Kiev, I have found some in one of the bigger supermarket chains.
Nature provides for man, the less man tampers with that process, the better for him.
During your lengthening phase, aim to eat every 2-3 hours. Smaller, more frequent portions are better. Even get up at night to have a snack. My routine was a couple of bananas and a yogurt drink half way through the night. You're not going to have the best of sleep during this phase, so might as well get up and eat! A whey protein shake is always good in between meals. So make sure you pack your favourite powder from home if you're used to it.
To get your appetites going, these are the types of food you should be eating and not just during your LL phase! You can take supplements (calcium tablets etc) to enhance your diet, but they should definitely not replace your diet.
