SHORT STATURE AFFECTS CHARACTER
« on: September 14, 2014, 09:04:15 AM »

In my opinion short stature is able to build up your character in 2 main different ways: a) The funny guy: because you can't defend easily the heightism you recieve you try to be funny so that people focus more on your sense of humour and how well you communicate in a bunch of people rather than your height b) the strict guy: Defending yourself by being straitforward, having power in your hand and only flexible with the close friends.

It should be admired that there are also people who don't care about their height, and others who have so much wealth and power that even taller guys feel inferior to them.Any thoughts?

In my opinion, being shorter than average reduces the ammount of personalities and characteristics you can employ convincingly, while a tall guy has no restrictions, a tall guy can be the funny or joker type person just as easily as a short person, in fact i would say a tall guy wouldnt even have to try as hard to get people to laugh sometimes, a short guy has to genuinely be funny to get laughs, while a tall guy can sometimes say quite lame jokes and still get plenty of laughs.

I know, cause they feel that a tall person is a cool person, so you should laugh with what they say, cause it should be geniuinely funny.

Yeah i know why they do it, and it annoys me greatly, i would never laugh at something that wasnt funny because i thought someone was cool, i dont even laugh at jokes from a girl i want to bang, although girls has very different kind of humor in general compared to guys, and i generally dont like their humor at all.

the only times i would laugh at a joke that wasn't funny is if i felt pity towards the person making it (like if a person really tries to make you laugh sometimes it might feel rude to not laugh a little at least), so i would chuckle a bit just to give them some form of affirmation.

Anyway so what was this topic about again? lol

How some inches can transform a person....For example you...you were shorter than most of your friends and now equal or taller to the most, you cannot be called short, and I think it should feel really good ;) And about how short stature affects us...

Yeah youre right, height really has a big impact on how you view a person as a whole.

for the first time ever i feel like i can behave like the person i always felt i was, and even though some people might have gotten used to my old passive and easy going persona, i think with the new height they will subconsciously start to feel a bit threatened by me and my presence, so the new more dominant persona will just be icing on the cake.

Of course this is specifically talking about the "friends" who had an superior attitude towards me before, most of my real friends wont care, since they never disrespected me before. And when im with them i will probably not act much differently, but i will feel more like one of them and not the short sidekick.

The worst ive been called is "shrimp" except in swedish of course, although i think they are mainly referring to the fact that i have always been quite skinny due to my very high metabolism, but of course my height was probably part of the reason too.

Usually its not anything explicit they say towards you, more like the body language and the negligence about you, like these people often interrupt you sometimes or ignore you when you say something to them and instead starts talking with someone else, they rarely even look towards you and when they do they usually look at you sideways and with squinty or tired eyes.

This only happens to me in group settings, these same dudes might talk to me later when there is no one else taking part of the convo, so in that situation i cant really treat them the same way because then it would seem like i was pissed/angry or something, i mean you cant really ignore someone talking to you if there is no one else there, it would be weird.  :P

It's not so much for what height the individual inherited, but the perspective in which he/she reacts to the situation. It's all psychological based on experience, whether it's the women you encounter or seeing people who were shorter than you outgrow you both psychically and mentally, or if you were teased/abused by your height, etc. It's all in your head, there are short people who are happy and short people who are not, but it's your choice.

It's difficult to be characterized as powerful and happy among others with a short stature, but building character isn't bone elongation.

This sometimes happen to me when I hang out with people that are 190CM+

But I'm never completely sure if it's becuase of my height or if I failed to make an impression. Probably a combination of both or the latter because of the former. Most tall people still treat me with respect but I have noticed that respect is harder to earn from taller people.

most tall dudes suck anyway if we disregard the female attraction point.

So i dont care to get their affection, just dont want to be stepped on because im short.
