Looking for limb lengthening doctor outside of us
« on: January 21, 2025, 01:19:41 AM »

Hey guys my name is aley. I am from the United States and am 18 years old. I have been dreaming and planning on limb lengthening for some time now and have now ran into the money to get the surgery done. I am pretty flexible (I can touch palms to ground without bending knees) I am athletic and run 3 times a week about 4 miles. My goal is ambitious of 16 cm between tibia and femur. I wanted to ask about any good doctors outside of the United States to meet my goal. I have heard some questionable stories about yuksel yurttas and wanna be taller and other clinics. I want to see if they are other doctors outside of the us that Are safe but not too expensive. While also willing to accommodate my ambitious goal (i know 16 cm is outside of the safe range) any recommendations and advice is appreciated. Thanks  :)

In recent times, going overseas isn’t worth it anymore financially. It used to cost 17-18k USD to do this surgery in Turkey with externals  when I did it (a world of suffering). Now it’s like 40k USD to do it in Turkey with externals 😂.

This is not a biased opinion because I am a patient, it is just from a monetary point of view. All surgeons that offer LL in the USA are used to treating severe breaks and injuries, so starting with non damaged legs is easy to them. It doesn’t really matter what US doctor you pick, but I refer everyone to Assayag because 1. The HP house (non-profit hotel for his patients) is 15$ a day to stay at, and it’s a decent living space 2. You are across the street from Assayag and Physical therapy, so everyone just rides there electric wheelchair there and PT is insurance covered 3. You save on travel and plane tickets and get to stay in USA

So if you’re going to spend 50k overseas you might as well just do it with Assayag for slightly more in the USA and be in the best hands.
If you’re trying to do externals overseas, the only doctor I would personally trust is parihar for Tibias. However if you have some minor alignment issue, schedule a consult with Assayag and see if he can discount. This is what happened in my case, when I did my tibias I had minor bow legs and was able to get my codes covered by insurance

If you’re from the USA and planning to do purely internals, you won’t save much going overseas if you factor in tickets and housing and PT.

The best doctors outside of the US:

- Dr. Lee in South Korea
- Dr. Gdalevitch in Canada
- Dr. Birkholtz in South Africa

Can't go wrong with any of these.
