Dr. Mangal Parihar, India, Point of Contact, LON Tibia
« on: January 19, 2025, 05:27:56 PM »

Hey guys,
I am planning to do CLL with Dr. Parihar in March 3rd week and I have requested zoom consultation with Dr Parihar's team; info@bonedocs.in
I also transferred payment for zoom consultation, sent back necessary health information and photos but haven't gotten a reply back from their team to arrange the consultation. It has been over 1 week and I am just wondering if they usually take long to reply?
I have annual leaves already applied and lined up so it is important I stick to March 3rd week if possible. Does anyone has alternative mode of connection to Dr. Parihar's team so that I can fasten the process?

Forward the info to Dr Ahuja on Dr Parihar's team:

divya@parihar.net

Sometimes the bonedocs email has issues.

I have sent my mail to him and still haven’t got any reply. I got his team number and directly call 2-3 times to schedule a meeting in-person. I will be meeting on 22 Jan 2025. Will share updates with you guys. Mostly going to discuss if he have precise available now, If not then how long should I wait else I will got with Tibia next year probably on Jan 2026. Right now I am looking for high paying remote jobs to get the surgery done with precise. I am still figuring out if I want my femur or tibia to be done at the first place.

Also, I read lot many things online about LON femur and it seems to pretty risky. So I am going with precise after 3 years. I guess, I will be able to save 60-70k.

But recently I discussed with a guy who already done tibia lengthening from wanna be taller and its almost been 1.5 years he is unable to jog or run. It’s pretty much confusion here.

Also, he was saying don’t go with tibia rather go with LON femur. It has faster recovery than tibia.
Did anyone have idea if tibia is good option or should I avoid it to be safer side? But I have seen couple of peoples online and people are walking fine after tibia lengthening I guess its all depends on body to body. He told me his left leg has slower recovery and right one is completely healed.

LON femur is a horrible idea and most doctors won't even do it for cosmetic cases.

Do tibia. You will be odd look when you got long femur. Long tibia looks more attractive. You will have to make the right choice.

Horrible, why? Femur fixators are used daily in trauma surgery; It is a great tool for correcting deformities, discrepancies and bone loss. The most terrifying stories of LL LON are in tebias.

Dr. Paley, revered by many here, suggests that if you plan to do Lon surgery, do it on the femurs, as long as the technique is with a retrograde nail.

I leave you the link where it explains it: minute 1:29:40 to 1:33:20.

No respected surgeon I know of seems willing to do LON femur for stature lengthening (deformity correction and injury are a different story), Parihar included, because the chance of infection is too high. That does not mean that you won't see people with external fixators on femurs.
