Hi, activated xx. I did external tibias recently, and now i am at consolidation phase. Did not do ATL, but wish i had. Sometimes the pins cause pain near the knees. They are uncomfortable, the fixators. And yes, this procedure is challenging in all levels. It challenges your patience, how bad you want to be taller, and sometimes it challenges our sanity. What helped me was a friend and a family members ' support, also praying, and mostly, thinking that I wanted that for so long, and i am blessed enough to be able to do it, and i feel grateful inspite of all the pain i had , and still have sometimes. Time passes quickly. I have done 6cm , and what helped me to reaching it, without any complications of whatsoever is going slow, i started lengthening at 0.8mm/ day, after i reached 2.4cm, dr. Suggested i go to 0.75mm, i was disappointed cause xrays showed very good callus. But trust me when i tell you, going slow is much more comfortable. I am glad i listened to my Dr.
Stretching is like magic, it is your loyal friend and best painkiller. Please, keep stretching. If you need someone to talk to, i am here for you. Dr.Assayag is a great surgeon and human. Happy thanks giving !
