Will having LL surgery reduce lifespan by a few years, or have complications in old age?

It shouldn't in itself, otherwise people who broke their legs on accident before should also have reduced lifespans after surgery. LL breaks your bone more precisely and in a clean manners so it doesn't have the shattered mess that accidental bone breakages have. Now it will be tough on your leg muscles and tendons to stretch out the few inches to their new length, but after time they should get used to their new length and develop new cells so you can live like normal.

Also even if it did shorten your life span, it's not worth sacrificing opportunities and quality of life you could have in your earlier younger years just to be able to live another 20 years of a  ty life in an old decrepit body at the end of your life. It's better to have a full rich life then die at 70 rather than a  ty miserable one until 70 and then suffering for another 20 years.

Good question! I've heard the opinion that limb lengthening increases height and, consequently, raises the heart's burden because it requires more energy to pump blood from the feet to the heart through the body's circulatory system. I'm not sure if this reasoning is scientifically accurate. Look forward to comments from medical perspectives. Thanks in advance!
