Lon tibia 5cm
« on: June 06, 2024, 11:47:17 AM »

Original height 169
 Target height 174

 Add five centimeters

 The day has finally come
After overcoming all difficulties, finally arranged the surgery schedule.
My epiphyseal plate will be back on tomorrow
The first three days were the hardest
I want to take painkillers first
If I can't stand it, I will use an injection to relieve the pain.

Thanks for the information provided by seniors
This time it’s my turn to give back to you all!

Awesome man, get well soon. I'm aiming for the same thing as you, I hope you will be fine. The advantage is that you won't stay long, so your stay will be relatively short 👍.

On the second day today, this was a really uncomfortable surgery. My foot was bent at about 70 degrees and I couldn't get out of bed for rehabilitation. Looking at the surgical stent, I was a little worried that it would not heal. No matter what, I had to find a way to get through it!

On the third day, I feel much better than yesterday, and I am gradually getting used to the shelf on my legs. However, I can’t get out of bed yet. The wound will still bleed. It will be painful when changing the dressing, but it is bearable. My head is a little dizzy, as if I have been lying down for too long. I hope it gets better and better

On the fourth day, the pain decreased a lot. I still can't bend my feet too much. It feels tight now. I really want to get out of bed and walk around, but it will take a while. My appetite is not good. I don't know if it is caused by taking too much medicine. Stomach pain, so far, I have shared with you the above

Good luck bro, what doctor did you go to?

Also why did you go for tibias, do you have short tibias? What are your tibia to femur measurements?

Sorry, please allow me not to disclose the surgery hospital. When I perform surgery in Asian countries, I choose tibia because it is simple and safer. This is the most common height-increasing surgery.

I want to post a photo, but I don’t know why it can’t be posted.

 Thank you, brother upstairs
 Photos and above

On the fifth day, I took an x-ray today.
 Generally speaking, it is acceptable
My health has been improving and getting better.
But going to the toilet is really a headache
 Others are fine
I hope I can live more independently in a wheelchair in the future
It will be updated from time to time.  .  .

I feel like they butchered it, lol. Maybe it's the image quality? I hope you're okay.

I don't think anything of it, maybe it's normal and I'm not a doctor. I said "lol" because I imagine myself in their place with the same leg (basically, it's sarcastic, nothing mean). I wish a speedy recovery in any case (look at my previous messages).

Day 8
The swollen and uncomfortable feeling in my feet still exists. My doctor ordered me to lie in bed throughout the extension period. This is really torture. The more I lie down, the more uncomfortable I feel. I really want to end this as soon as possible. Every day is long and difficult. I hope After a while, I will be able to move around in a wheelchair.
My thigh muscles have begun to get smaller, probably because I have been lying down for too long. This is definitely the biggest challenge in life. You really need to think carefully before proceeding. If time comes back, I should be able to do it one foot at a time. Foot surgery, not both feet at once

I keep the painkillers, but I rarely take them because of the pain, because what makes me miserable is lying in bed for 24 hours. I look forward to getting out of bed and using a wheelchair. Today, my feet feel less swollen. Maybe I can in a few days. The challenge of sitting in a wheelchair

Day 17 +6mm
Currently lengthening by 1mm per day
 0.25×4
Soreness, swelling, and tightness begin to appear
I think most people show up after three centimeters.
It seems like mine was too early
I don’t know if I can stick to my goal of 5 centimeters.
 If i can't bear it
I will try lowering the extension speed
 Hope to achieve the goal

Day 21 +10mm

I don’t know if 1mm of extension per day is too much. I couldn’t stand the pain yesterday and took painkillers. I’m considering whether to slow down the extension to 0.75mm per day.

1mm/day on tibias is a lot. Dr. Giotikas allows 0.75mm/day at maximum for tibias, and there are patients who do 0.5mm/day.

Although I did femurs, not tibia, one of the best things I did during the process was slow down. If your schedule and financials allow it I would recommend the same.

Slowing down is indeed the best way, and the pain has also gone down. Yesterday I tried 0.75mm speed extension and my body felt better. Thank you guys for reminding me.

Day 41
 +25mm

Recently, I switched between 0.75mm and 1mm for extension. However, I often need to slow down and rest after accelerating, otherwise it will be very painful. Recently, I also found that ants would come to bite my wound. It was really scary. Later, I sprayed some essential oil and it became less likely. , In addition, the tendon of the right calf has become tight and painful recently. I hope it will get better after a while, because it is only 2.5 centimeters now, which is still far from my goal of 5 centimeters.

Day49
+30mm

I went back to the doctor yesterday and took an x-ray
The doctor found that the bone was not healing
Oh my God, I actually encountered it too
The doctor prescribed forteo and asked me to inject it
But I'm worried about getting tumors
 So there is no injection
Come back later and find a solution quickly
Later, everyone on the forum seemed to think that it would be good to stop the extension or reverse the extension.
So starting from today, the reversal is extended
I hope the callus will grow back slowly
-0.5mm per day until -2mm

I'm really afraid that the bones in my body won't heal at all.
I feel sorry for my family
I told them I'd be fine in a few months
 Tell them not to worry
 I didn’t expect to encounter bone non-healing
In serious cases, it may be a long-term war of resistance
 Please Let me grow calluses
I'm willing to reduce some goals
It might as well be 4.5 cm or 4 cm

Your doctor is from India?
You are doing Tibias which the bone is slower in hearling compared to Femur.
It is only 1months plus post surgery, why do you think it is non-union?
I m also surprised that you can't even walk using LON.

Tibias is more complicated than Femur.
Femur LL surgery take about 3hours
Tibias LL will take more about 4hours plus
That's why Tibias LL cost is higher than Femur
It seemed you didnt do a thorough research at all.

Hi bagga

 thank you for your reply
I feel like the bone is not healing
It's because after almost two months, the X-ray shows no callus between the bones.
The doctor seems to be healing very slowly.
 honestly
 I am also not certain
It should be said that I am afraid that the bone will not heal.
In fact, we won’t know if it’s getting better until the next x-ray is taken.

Not being able to walk is a doctor's rule
I also feel helpless and have to lie down all the time

As for the complexity of the surgery
 I only knew before
There are fewer nerves, blood vessels, etc. in the calf than near the thigh.
 So complications may be less
That’s why I thought it would be simpler and less risky.
