I am full of regrets VENT
« on: May 29, 2024, 02:57:59 AM »

I'm 21 years old and I am studying for my bachelors degree.
I realize I've wasted lots of money and could already have saved up a chunk of money to get this surgery. But instead I've wasted it on vacations, trips, food etc.

So I've made the decision to start saving now, and as I am a student funds are very tight.

Even if I did have the money, I can't take the surgery before 3 years... as we have certain things that are mandatory to attend in bachelor program(can't have less than 90% attendence on these).

I guess the positive thing is that I can now save up for 3 years and actually go to a decent surgeon and clinic.

Sorry for vent.

Take care everyone.

I am 32 years old. When I was your age, I spent money like there is no tomorrow.

I was splurging on unnecessary things and gambling. Don't do stupid things like me

and you will have enough money for the surgery in 3 years. Cheers.

I will say... money spent on vacations, trips, and food was not wasted.  You most likely had a lot of fun and great memories.  This surgery will get done in due time.  Do not get this done in Turkey or India to "save money."  There have been 100's of horror stories from there from people trying to bargain-shop and now they can't walk  Check out Cyborg 4 Life channel on YouTube for all the info on CLL you could ever want.

Avoid europe as well.

Most western European destinations are solid choices for LL (especially Germany, where many LL surgeons are located)

Why is becker not a good surgeon?

I am asking this because I was planning to do the surgery with becker at one point in time. Not anymore though.

Anyways, what I liked about becker is his nail is full-weight bearing and allows you to extend far greater than precice nail.

What I don't like about becker is his accomodations are too expensive.

I have a fixed budget for this surgery and have no intention of spending more than the budget.

That's exactly what scares me, but if there were 2 deaths out of 40,000 patients, that's another story. What were the causes of death? By the way, is there any doctor who hasn't had a death?

Nonunions can happen with anyone, I don't think that's doctor's fault. Btw if you have info, where can I read about patients who died (their age/complications) on this forum or elsewhere?

2 deaths is not true! One patient died 3 years ago, it wasn't Giotikas fault, it happened many weeks after surgery because the patient secretly followed an intermittent fasting diet which apparently affected the thickness of the blood. Giotikas was never blamed for negligence or malpractice.

Not true, Giotikas has crippled and given many problems to many patients. He’s not a good doctor. Read my thread for more info.

I'm not convinced...To me you seem more like an obsessive person on a mission to defame Giotikas, than an honest person trying to honestly inform others! I know that sometimes people with severe or psychotic types of body dysmorphic disorder do not have the ability to understand the limitations of any cosmetic treatment and sometimes become obsessive or aggressive against their doctors. I wouldn't be surprised if you start blaming the next doctor you go to for help.
Anyway, I'm having my LL surgery with Giotikas (whom I've been very thoroughly vetted with for the last 4 years!) on June 20th and I'll keep you posted on my experience..

Not a waste to enjoy life a little, it's not like you put yourself into heavy debt or spent irresponsibly. Enjoy vacations and food while you're young and able bodied, don't be like those 60 year olds who practice delayed gratification to a fault and deprived themselves all their lives, broke their bodies and got atrophied working all the time, and once they hit retirement age they can't even enjoy it because they're decrepit and fall asleep while on vacation in Italy or something.

I was homeless when I was 21. You're not doing so bad.

This argument is ridiculous, you don't die for that kind of diet
