Based on my calculations, I need to lengthen 15% of my original bone lengths so for ~43 cm femur it's about 6.5 cm and for ~35 cm tibia it's about 5.2 cm.
Which segment would look better until I do the other segment? I know that tibia is cheap and 5.2 cm can be done without much troubles but I'm concerned it will look weird with boots and pants till I do the femurs. My lower legs will be very long relative to my thighs but it won't be the same for 6.5 cm femurs as I'll be able to wear 2 inch boots with long pants and look very proportionate + additional 3 cm taller (relativistic boost to 2 cm shoes most males wear). So, 9.5 cm taller in total if I lengthen my femurs for 6.5 cm and wear 5 cm boots.
It's not only about standing 9.5 cm taller with boots if I lengthen 6.5 cm femurs first, it's about looking proportionate from waist to ankle when wearing long pants with boots and with tibia even if I lengthen just 3 cm, I will look bad with boots and pants. Another benefit for doing femurs first is better biomechanics, especially when wearing 2 inch boots. Stride will increase with 6.5 cm femurs while if I do 5.2 cm tibia first, my stride will remain the same and my walk will look odd.
Yet another issue with tibia first is that it won't look good with short femurs and I won't look tall contrary to popular belief that doing tibia for 5-6 cm will make someone appear taller. It's only true if someone had relatively short tibia to his femur pre-LL and post LL tibia-femur ratio is less than 0.90. In my case, my post LL tibia-femur ratio if I lengthen 5.2 cm tibia will become 0.93 and I will look like short man on stilts. If I do 6.5 cm femurs first, IMO, I will look much harmonious from waist to ankle and much taller and natural. BTW, I have made mock-ups for 5.5 and 6.5 cm tibia lengthenings with pants and boots and even though my shirt is tucked in, I look like short man on stilts even in 5.5 cm mockup.
Another issue is that I can afford fully external tibia in about 1-2 years but I won't be able to afford PRECICE or other internal nails for femurs for many years, only LON femurs in about 2-3 years from now.
I know that LON femur is not recommended here and it's not in my wishlist either but I want to pull the trigger in about 2-3 years from now max as I can't wait any longer for PRECICE.
How is the recovery for 6.5 cm for LON femur?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks.
