Best Doctors
« on: April 17, 2024, 05:19:13 PM »

Does anyone have a list of the best doctors along with total costs? I would also like to know who are the best doctors in the US to do it outside of Paley? I was considering Turkey, but now based on the forums I read probably not.

Dr. Metin Küçükkaya is probably the only Turkish doctor that is recommended by none other than Dr Donghoon Lee and Dr. Peter Thaller, as well as Cyborg4Life who interviewed him a year ago. But I don't know the costs, so you should try to contact them first. Same with Dr. Peter Thaller in Germany, you'd need to contact them.

But the only one I know that has considerable reputation outside US is Dr Donghoon Lee.
You can check out his prices in this thread. http://www.limblengtheningforum.com/index.php?topic=45295.62
He's also one of my options to consider, since while his prices has gone up, it's still quite cheaper than US. The only issue will be partly be the language barrier with some of the staff most likely, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Other than those, I'm not sure, some of the other doctors have a lot of presence in the diaries but can be a mixed-bag to a lot of people with different opinions. I wouldn't say they're all bad, but just a lot of conflicting opinions here with some of them.

Others are mentioned to be the best, but not much diaries or experience around them here, so it's hard to gauge it. Like Dr. Hiroyuki in Japan, barely any presence here but scrounging around he has made significant contributions research-wise and as a doctor in Japan, which is one I would consider as well since I have plans to go there.

The hard thing about this surgery is trying to get which doctor is good or not, but since this is still quite an uncommon surgery, it's hard to get enough patient experiences or none at all with some doctors to actually consider some of them outside the usual US ones like Paley, Rozbruch, Assayag, etc.

Ideal goal: (178cm~180cm) 5'10~5'11 with two separate bilateral(femur+tibia) lengthening / (183cm) 6' at max safe goal
Normal goal: (176cm) 5'9 with femur lengthening
Minimum goal: (173.5cm) 5'8 with femur/tibia lengthening

Plan in 2025~2026 when Precice Max comes and has some good outcomes.

Besides Paley, the best USA Doctor would probably be Dr. Rozburch in New York.

As markr09 said, Dr Metin Kucukkaya is a reputable and experienced surgeon. He is the only surgeon in Turkey you should see. I wouldn't go to any of the other ones.

As far as "best bang for your buck", Dr Birkholtz is hard to beat. He is really inexpensive but also very experienced.

Current LL plan:
QLL in Early 2025 using the PRECICE nail with Dr. Birkholtz.
4cm tibia, 4cm femur. One year later, re-break for another 4+4. 167cm -> 175cm -> 183cm

Definitely not Yuksel Yurttas or any doctor from Turkey. Yuksel Yurttas is a criminal, and should lose his medical license. He has crippled more than 20+ patients.

For the best doctors in the USA:
I highly recommend Dr Assayag. Super personable, intelligent, and most importantly, does surgeries perfectly.

Some other good LL doctors include Dr Becker in Germany who is around 45k-50k and Dr Assayag in Baltimore who's price I dont know exactly. If your looking for the max possible length for the least amount of money I would recommend Dr Becker as his Betz bone device can lengthen a max of 12cm for only around 45k-50k. But if you are intent on staying in the US and not spending an exorbitant amount of money at the Paley institute, a more affordable option would definitely be Dr Assayag. I dont know his price exactly but I think its in the ball park of around 70k-90k.

I did the cosmetic LL back in 2019 in Egypt(dr.Yasser Elbatrawy)who is relatively cheap, but now i pay the price for my choice. This clumsy and irresponsible doctor made me almost handicaped! After 2019,i did 3 operations with other doctors in order to try to correct his bad work but it is impossible.Even now,i can't walk normally and i feel much pain in my legs.He has also a terrible personality. So, guys don't make the same mistake as me because of the low cost.Stay away from him if you want to walk again like before...

Same story with me with the Turkish butcher Yuksel Yurttas! Can you go into the surgeries you had?

**The Missing Pre-Op Appointment**

A few weeks ago, I was scheduled for a pre-operative appointment to discuss my upcoming procedure. This appointment was critical for understanding the process, addressing my concerns, and ensuring I was fully prepared. To my dismay, I was asked to sign the consent and tge information was not provided as the appointment was removed from the schedule without any explanation . When I reached out to inquire about it, I received vague and unhelpful responses.

**Feeling Unheard**

During my last visit, I expressed my concerns about the misalignment in my ankle and the grinding sensation in my hip. Walking has become increasingly difficult, and the current treatment feels heavy and unstable. Despite sharing these issues, I felt dismissed and unheard. The response from Dr. did not address my concerns adequately, leaving me with more questions than answers.

**Requests Ignored**

I have also repeatedly asked to modify the treatment plan to avoid further complications. This request seemed to fall on deaf ears, as there was no meaningful discussion about its feasibility or alternative solutions. It's frustrating to feel like my preferences and comfort are not being considered in my treatment plan.

**The Impact on My Well-Being**

The lack of clear communication has significantly impacted my mental and emotional well-being. The uncertainty and lack of information have caused me immense stress and anxiety. It's challenging to feel confident about undergoing a procedure when I don't have all the necessary information or feel that my concerns are being taken seriously.

**Advice for Others**

To anyone reading this, NY has no added value or quality

He's the most expensive surgeon in the world. I would rather go with Paley or Assayag.

Lot of good surgeons in the US, Canada, and EU.

Is Becker good? Don’t they have diaries where they abandoned cases with complications?
