Are you already in consolidation atleast so you can focus on recovery? I hope it goes well for you.
Also curious, are there no lengthening doctors in Japan? I thought Japan had Hiroyuki, or did he just do studies for them but never really offered any medical surgeries?
Makes it less likely then I'd consider going to any other doctors in SK other than Donhoon Lee. Not being able to speak Korean is already hard thing to deal with, not being able to even communicate for help in a country full of strangers is just not worth the risk if I ever would do it in Korea.
Where are you located? If you are located in the US, just do the surgery in the US.
If you are located in Japan or China, then maybe Korea is an option.
FYI Donghoon Lee (DHL) is a superb doctor. He was initally my first choice, I even had a consultation with him.
However, the problem with DHL's clinic is that the clinic no longer offers package that includes long-term hospital stays
and rents near his clinic are outrageously high. Prepare to pay a lot of money if you are going to do the surgery with DHL
because rents are very high and as @shi mentioned Korean CLL clinics are not very transparent about the cost.
Also, for a foreigner who doesn't speak a word of Korean and doesn't have a permanent resident card,
its going to be tough to get through the recovery phase in Korea.
