The question is quite dumb. The safe limit depends on initial bone length in most cases. A 180 cm person will be able to lengthen more than a 160 cm person. Better to ask for % of initial length

I hear good doctors pay close attention to problems u have while lengthening. If u start having complications it's better to stop then risk from something happening. But some doctors don't pay attention and jus lengthening how much u want and u will jus have to pt longer than originally planned. If u don't develop ballerina and nerve damage then continue I guess.

I would say since tibias are quite prone to complications 4 cm would be the safest number. 5cm would be the top max and the limit. Beyond that the complication rate increase dramatically. Don't trust anybody telling you doing more than that its safe, because its not.

I agree with 6 cm being (generally) the safe upper limit for tibias. I did 6.2 cm on my tibias with the external frames.

Other tibia patients I knew did 6.5 and another even did 7. All of them were fine.

 Generally 5-6 cm on tibias is fine for most LLers, as long as you manage/ monitor the ballerina foot that could crop up around then.
