What did this do for your quality-of-life post-recovery?

Do you have any regrets?

How did this improve your quality-of-life in reality compared to your expectation?

Please include your age, starting/ending heights and segments too! Thanks

Does 5 7.5-> 5 10.5 count?
Age Surgery ~ 50-55 yo (unilateral, many complications, took ~ 4.5 years all up), Precice Femurs.
Feel slightly above average height, going from short to average (Australia) I get some more attention from women and more respect from men - but this is quickly lost if I behave like and AHole. imho being a friendly smart short guy gets you better interactions and romance than being an average height AHole.
Constant sore knees. Tight thighs and decreased knee ROM all suck.

Basically 5’ 10” to 6’ 1”. About 6 months post op right now.

Zero regrets.

Halo effect is real. Met a bunch of random aunts and uncles and cousins I’ve never met before at a family thing. A lot of compliments about my height especially since I work out a lot and am decently athletic.

I told my friends about the surgery before I did it. They were all pretty shocked seeing me in person once I was able to walk. It’s very jarring going from seeing someone at eye level and then looking down at them in conversation.

It’s definitely a nice feeling overall.

I haven’t started dating yet because I want to wait until my gait is 100% back to normal. But I’ve been swiping on the dating apps for fun. Definitely getting more matches now that I’ve listed my new height. In particular, I get matches from taller girls in the 5’8 a 5’10” range that I usually never got before.

GrowGrow123, hi man who did you do the operation with?  that's also what scares me, the way you walk... Did you do 3 inches on the femur with precision?  could you walk during the process?

With Mahboubian. Yes 3 inches on femurs.

I was able to walk unassisted after 4 months. 3 months to lengthen and 1 month for the bone to consolidate enough to support my body weight.

My walking gait is about 85% normal right now Id say. It typically takes 9 months for your walk to go back to completely normal so I’ve still got a few a months before then.

thank you for your reason. It hurts, finally they say that the procedure is done very badly, is that true or is it a little overrated. The price ? Keep it up, you've done the hardest part, you still have a little part of the way left.

Price was $82K for just femurs.

Yes, it's extremely painful for the first week or two after surgery. But it gets a lot better after that once the inflammation and swelling from the initial operation goes down.

My life is basically back to normal now. At this point, just need to keep walking, stretching, and working out the glutes and legs.

do you feel that your biomechanics have changed?  could you jump like before (play basketball, or just jump high enough)

My friend I'm 2 months after removal. Did you have any lordosis and what is your daily routine, any tips. I reached 178 or 179cm so I'm basically your old height. Thanks bro

Squatting feels different. Definitely harder. I haven't jumped too much because I technically haven't been cleared yet to do that. But I can do jumping jacks without problem and it feels like I could jump high if I wanted to.

I have my next set of X-Rays a few weeks from now. If everything looks good, the doctor will give me the thumbs up to run and jump and lift weights.

I never had any lordosis, luckily. I basically do this most days on my own:

- Bodyweight Squats
- Bicycle 15-20 minutes
- Walk 10000 steps at least
- Hamstring stretches

I also have a 30 minute PT session 3 times a week.

Thanks for the info. I will add body squats to the routine.
