Hello everyone.
Originally I was hoping to lengthen the femur and the tibia afterwards.
Overall because of time, money and complication aspects, thinking things over , I suppose it would make sense to just start with the femurs and see how it works from there, assuming maybe I'll be happy with the results and be satisfied with it.
This question is referred to post operative patients.
It's difficult for me to imagine how I will feel regarding the change in center of gravity if I'll lengthen (just) my femur.
Is it possible to describe how much did the femur lengthening alone changed your about doing things like your balance while standing, walking, running jumping etc, and feel relatively "natural" about yourself ?
(I'm talking of course after physical therapy and recovery and post consolidation).
My biggest worry is that after lengthening the femur only, the change in femur/tibia ratio will make me feel sort of 'obligated' to lengthen the tibia in order to correct the change in ratio I created.
I don't know if any of that makes sense, or how much it sounds wierd,
but I'd appreciate to hear from the experience of post-op patients.
(My current height is 166cm [about 5''5], I'm hoping for 6-7cm in the femurs).
