at 165cm what should my realistic goal be in LLS?
« on: September 03, 2023, 05:51:43 AM »

is 175 out of the question or even 180?

I don't want to become a cripple I want a surgery with a budget of around 30k and 3-6 month recovery time? Am I being unrealistic?

U can even go more than 180 but I won't advise cuz the risk of complications will be too high

Just do 8 cm on femurs and see if that is enough for you. According to DR Rozbruch 80% of his patients are satisfied with just that, and if it isn't enough you can do 5 on tibias. However doing more than 10 cm at that height (I'm that myself) porpertions starts to become off and it's really noticeable. So I would max if your're really craving height do both 8+5 cm but with 8+ cm your're already 175 cm ish which is within the normal range.

How long do you have to stay in the hospital with Rozbruch? NY rent really high compared to baltimore.

You can become about 1.72 with one LL or 1.80 with both segments if you push hard. Risks are big though with pushing to the limits with 2 LLs.
12cm in one segment are for lunatics and wannabe crippled ones. Stay semsible to your goals.

Agreed with Body Builder! Anyone who does more than 8+ cm are risking their health for minimum gain in height. They limited the precice nail to 8 cm for safety reasons. Dr Betz / Becker are idiots for overlengthening almost every single patient they have. Sure they might be fine the in the short term but after 10 years there joints are constantly under way to much stress, which could lead to early arthisis or joint stifness according to DR Birkholtz, which cares a lot about patients safety. Espicially if you do 12 cm on femurs... Even if you're one out of many who is fine with 12 cm on femurs, your propertions will look absolutely terrible and it will be extremely noticeable that you have done the surgery...

If you do 12 cm they do. Not only will it most likely feel strange to walk, but it will look stupid.

165 is a good/decent height. You need not do anything as well

Talking from experience 165 cm is not a terrible height but a pretty bad one. Your basically the same height as most 10-13 year old boys, and the same height as most women. So yeah could be worse but far from perfect. Once you hit above 173 / 5'8 You have gotten yourself a height that ain't short and within the average zone.

Ya I was thinking about what starting height getting 8cm would have the biggest positive change on. I’d say if you were short and then went to average it would be a tremendous positive change vs average to above average or above average to tall. From the research I’ve done on height and it’s implications being tall rather than average height has less of a positive impact than being short rather than average has a negative one (if that makes sense). So going from 5’5 to 5’8 or 5’6 to 5’9 is probably the biggest 8cm benefit there is.

I just wanted to see how this forum would react to this lol. But I agree with other folks here. Although I myself am 167 and  I am very unhappy with my height. I just HATE the rehabilitation time of this procedure... Do not give a hoot about complications, proportions, money etc. tbh

I agree, I've had some luck with the ladies even very attractive ones. I'm in shape, handsome face and dress nice but being 5'5 makes my dating pool very small which is hard for me, someone who always tries to shoot for the hotter girls. I've never had a relationship last more than 2 months, my last one was with a hot 5'8 girl and I feel my height dysphoria was too much. I'm 25 now and I've been insecure about my height for 10 years it's not going to go away so I may as well look into solutions. If I get to 173 I can be 178 with lifts on occassions too.

I have almost the exact same experiences as you, but I was lucky and found a hot and sweet girlfriend who I have been with for more than 2 years, who is 171 cm lol. But I agree catching and staying in a relationship with a 7+/10 girl both personality and look wise becomes extremely hard. But I have still gotten a lot of attention from women mostly between 1-6 lol even had a women who is 181 cm wanting to be with me cuz she had an fetish for hot short guys lmao.

If you can afford nails on femurs you could go up to 8cm at most. Proportions will not look good if you do both and go to the max.  Personally I would go to 7cm max on femurs only just for caution wise. Also because I'm 1.73 and would reach my dream height.

5-6 cm Max in tibia. Plus anywhere from 8-10 cm on femur. So maybe a total 16 cm max. Which would bring you to 181.

That’s optimistic though. More realistically it would be 13 cm with quadrilateral which would take you to 178

Stay above 49% sitting height to height and 70-90% tibia to femur and it won’t be noticeable … fingers land  upper mid thigh when standing

im 165.5cm and my goal is 173.5 cm . but realistic its kind of hard because ilizarov is hard to move around and kind of bored. if i had precice like the americans . it would be much easier to achieve. but im going for 172.8
