LL is not a cheat code to becoming taller
« on: August 22, 2023, 06:03:10 AM »

The idea that LL can just totally fix your short stature is total crap unless you started off fully disproportionate which is extremely rare. The ideal LL candidate is someone with a long torso, long clavicles, long neck, long skull, long arms, big hands, and big feet, but only suffers from short legs. You can see how almost nobody is like this and this is why almost everyone will end up disproportionate after LL. Some people are more suited for single or quad LL than others but almost nobody will end up with "tall" person proportions. People who will be at your final height will STILL look taller than you because they have a better overall frame for their height. There will always be something "short" about you even if u manage to gain 6 inches of height. Now if that is not an issue to you and proportions don't matter, then by all means. But my point is you will never look stereotypically tall and if you're not okay with that you shouldn't do LL.

the variation in human proportions is spectacular actually.  what you think isnt "normal", you see everyday.

What is true, is that many shorter stature men (under 5'7") have unusually short legs.

My stats:  Sitting height is about 54% of standing height, which  is 2.5 std devs away from mean (about 49.5%).

Add 5", I get to 50.5%, well within 1 std deviation.

Wingspan, 175.  So that is now a little shorter after being a little longer than height.

How in the world do you think I look less "normal" after LL? If anything, I look more normal, but no one notices either way but they do notice height.

Despite of having a long torso, I don't care about proportions, a lot of other people don't care too, so please, stop talking so much about a topic that a lot of people don't care.

Note: at this moment I'm only a "pretender", I want to know more about this interesting procedure. Hopping to become 185 cm (6'1'') from 174 cm (5'8 ½''), but it is too expensive.
My sitting height is 92½ - 94 cm (36''½ 37''), my length of legs is 81 cm (32'') and my armspan is 180 cm (70'' 7/8).

Hi guys,
I'm a shorter man myself currently toying with the idea of getting LL surgery. As a result, I'm working with a UK TV channel to document my journey. Excited but nervous. I'm keen to speak to people who have had the procedure or are thinking about having it like me. If you'd be interested in featuring in this documentary please email william.njo@outlook.com

I kinda agree that after extreme ll your proportion might become (slightly) weird. But tbh people have all kinds of shapes and proportions dude. There are tons of people who don't have the best looking body shapes and proportions: runway models, athletes, your tall friends, you name it.

Notsettlingforavg your're overthinking this way to much. 99% of people don't notice all of what you mentioned except the height and like others have pointed out, everybody has different shapes.

Well most people arent complete r-tards who are going from proper short height to 6 foot. Stop making dumbass threads ffs. You have yet to make a single thread that is actually beneficial and every question you ask has already been answered multiple times. Your the only one who should be worrying about proportions, most other people with a tad bit of logic arent lenghtning over fkn 10cm. Id 💩 on your “goal” but i feel like everyone else has done that enough. Your 5’5. If you truly believe you’d be able to get even a FRACTION of your goal you are fking delusional. Id give it at most 3 inches in total before your body gives out. Your not big or tall enough to be going to 6 foot from 5’5, end of story.

I think the issue is when you over lengthen and go beyond your wingspan. My wingspan was 174 and I gained 7cm for 1.73 so my 7cm gain actually gave me closer 1:1 proportions. But nothing it’s perfect. I’ll rather have the same size body and be taller than shorter. If anything I might hop on gear next to looksmax, I’ll see how I respond to that.

You haven't heard of quad lengthening it seems, even if I was to be more "realistic" I should be able to get 8+6 cm which puts me at 180 cm , aiming for 3 more cms isn't delusional. Maybe look at some diaries of people who did 15+ cm total lengthening and you will know it's not delusional.

You think im stupid.. im well aware of quad lenghtning. I think its stupid, and youll end up still looking massively disproportionate because your not even close to average height before the surgery. As for the diaries, ive literally not seen a single diary from someone whos done that much who could actually still function like a normal person. If you consider being able to walk fully recovered then yea sure. I consider full recovery to be as close to normal as possible, meaning you can still run, jump, and generally use your legs to lift things you might need to lift throughout life. Again, not a single diary ive read from someone who did that much was normal after. Where as ive read dozens of diaries from people who did anywhere from 5cm to even 10cm that recovered pre good. Your talking about doing 10cm on femurs and 6cm in tibias which can be risky SPECIFICALLY for people of your height because you simply dont have the capability and the body to handle that. Just an fyi aswell, most people ive seen who did that much werent short beforehand. They were short average-average height so they actually had more bone and tendon to work with. Im not doubting that you COULD potentially do it. Im just saying it will likely NOT play out like that. Youll realize once your crippled that you simply wont get to those goals where you are now. By all means if you do, then your clearly just a deity whos built different.

No one can look proportionate post 10cms on femurs.  Doesn't matter if you start 165 or 180. Saying a guy who is 5-10cms taller than him can tolerate those lengths is completely idiotic as a guy who is 10cms taller than you usually has femurs that are like 2-3cms longer.
I haven't seen a single good recovery video of people whi did 8cms on femurs in the long run and the video were of patients at heights between 5'1-5'11.

I agree with you that this guy is completely delusional though...

Proportions are cope.

If you think being short and proportionate is better than being taller with slightly worse proportions, then more power to you. Save your money and don't do this surgery.

He is right. There are a few things that only short people have that bigger ones don't have. And that is finger thickness, hand and shoe size, arm length and thickness, the width of the head and the volume, and the shorter a person was pre LL the more round-ish is the shape of the head.

You need to be slightly shorter than average, with the upper body of a person who is not short, to blend in 100% with the weight class that you enter through LL.

Many LLers who have a wide torso look much better.compared to people with the same height naturally.
Thats the truth. And also, noone is too disproportionate to look bad unless he did 17cm lengthening with a starting height of less than 1.65.
Also, LLers with a less than average height but not far from it have the benefits of getting muscles easier than taller men with having the same height with them (after LL).

So all you wrote are false. LLers look very good most of the times (for sure better than before LL), the drawbacks of this surgery are not aesthetic ones. And most of the times are not as important as the privileges you gain with becoming average from short.

I agree upon what BodyBuilder said. Unless you do like 20 cm lengthening starting at like 155cm, you will not be so disproportionate that you can look bad.
Also it's up to you whether to make a trade-off.
being disproportionate or being short?
For me I will choose the former.
