Can def put less weight on it. You might be limited to like 55 pounds on each leg or something with the smaller one. I think the larger one is maybe 75. Someone can correct me on the numbers.
Btw I dont think receiving the smallest nail is necessary always for the smallest people. I was 5'7 and maybe 155 pounds and was surprised I got the small nail considering this surgery is usually for really little people. Some of it is how much they need to bore out of your bones. My canals were tight (probably from running so much idk). So if you have thick bones you might get the smaller nail. This is why they tell you they dont know what size youll get until they get in there sometimes. Maybe you have a smaller outer diameter bone they see on the xray so they already know what nail size it needs to be.
The smallest nail (8.5 mm) is not necessary for the smallest people, although its usually the case.
It just means your canals inside your bone are small, not reallly your bones itself are small from what I believe.
You can have same bone size as someone else and different inner canal diameter for example.
Anyways, I have met others who aren't necessarily small guys but average and they had to get the smallest nail for their femurs as well..
Were you able to lengthen your goal amount with the smallest nail? Did you experience any bending? And was it for the femur lenghtening? Thanks sir.
