Do you guys measure the highest point on your head?
« on: June 23, 2023, 04:59:01 AM »

If I have good posture in the morning and put the box on top of my head where it's the highest, I measure about 175cm, is this the correct way?

What about morning height and evening height. What do most people usually go with and why?

I've read that morning height reduces close to evening height after just 1-2 hours.  since doctors offices and height studies aren't getting morning height, really for accurate comparisons is ur height 2+ hours after getting up.  But most guys will round up evening height then add an inch when it's profile on a dating app lol. Lots of guys exaggerate IRL too

Endgame I agree with you so much! Every guy I know also here in Denmark adding an exstra 1-2 inches / 2.5 - 5 cm. In Denmark you always including on your passport get measured with shoes on, which usually add this amount lol

I go with middle of morning and evening height personally.

As a slightly off topic side note... if you tell someone not in this forum you're "xx height in the morning/evening" theyre going to laugh their ass off at you.  Nobody says these things outside this height obsessed forum.

Your're right. Do you feel short at almost 5'9 / 174 cm? I'm going to be that after lengthening my femurs most likely. What made you stop at 3.2 cm? I heard that betzbone / Gnail isn't recommended because of the clicking method and how multiple patients stop early, cuz they can't click or too painful??

I feel a hell of a lot better than before the surgery thats for sure.  Do I wish I got that last CM?  Yeah absolutely.  But I'm pretty content.  No I dont feel short anymore I feel very average and I've been to quite a few social events.  It feels like my height isnt scoring me points (Im not tall) but its not holding me back anymore.  I dont feel like a walking anomaly or like a girl would be embarrassed to be with me.  Getting out of the 5'7 zone gets you over the hump where people look at you as short.  And this is backed up in the numbers when you look at height bell curves.  Going from 5'7 to my current height gets you so far up that curve.

But I think with this surgery you want to do the least amount possible where you can still feel content.  Even with just 3.2cm I can still feel it in my knees a bit and have a bit of tightness.  This surgery stretches out your ligaments and tendons and they just take forever to repair and strengthen.  Its nothing bad at all and doesnt cause me pain but I can tell Im still recovering to feeling really youthful like before.  Nevertheless Im out and about all day walking, biking, ellypical, etc.  Ill start running when I get the clear.

What made me stop was most likely tough callous as I had an inability to click.  It wasnt a pain thing it was a I literally cannot rotate my leg enough degrees to get clicks anymore unless I rip my knee out of its socket.  This always happens to a few patients in the lengthening rotation and often what happens is they go under anesthesia clicking to loosen the callous again.  But I was so close to my goal that I just called it a day.

Weird. If getting up after 1-2 hours the height is my evening height(aka 'night height' I think?), then it is 162.5cm, which is taller than my night height by 0.5cm, but I don't know why, sometimes I am only 161.5cm or so after I have measured myself for many many times with a triangle or an anthropometer. I guess that is because I exhausted my spine? But sometimes my night height is just 162.0 cm even after I have measured myself for many times. Kinda weird. Sometimes I walk outside for hours and my night height is 162cm. Sometimes I walk outside for hours my night height is 161.5cm, but that case only happened for once.

As a side note, I have a triangle skull shape so it's kinda hard for me to touch my skull top by an object.

Your evening height is the more stable height so it ~should~ be that one. But vanity is a thing. People lying about their heights by an inch is pretty common
