For deformity correction is internal fixation with plates more invasive then external fixation with circular hexapod?

For deformities if it can be fixed with an internal plate thats the way to do it.
We are not talking about internal nails but a plate. It is still an invasive method but almost the same as hexapods and way more easy for the patient, although it is too painful for the first 2-3 days.
I did it to fix a malunion on my right leg caused from LL and it was way more painful than LL.
