btw during lengthening, was the doctor/or his staff easy to reach if there was an issue?
Did they have someone you could communicate with, if you were going to have a panic attack or something?

there is an uncomfortable knee tightness and pain 2/10. there is a popping sound when i do physiotherapy that requires bending the knee. I stood up for 5 minutes and 2 minutes on the 9th day after frame removal. i have to lean forward and push my butt out because i feel that i would fall if i straightened my back.i am working to fix this what people call “duckass”. I feel my calves muscles stretching alot when I stood up.

i only know 1 person that did 8cm walking normal after 2 months. But he still looks like he struggle slightly to stand up, his walking is fine, just the standing and sitting motion, looks awkward. i know another guy that did 7.5cm. he is post 6 mths frame removal. he looks like a normal human being, drive motorcycle

the doctor is easily contactable on Zalo. nurses are 24/7 when you are staying at the hospital.

11th day after frame removal.
practice standing for 2 minutes each reps with my physiotherapist. leaned against the wall to straighten my back.
standing is more firm and balanced compared to the first time.
felt like i could take a few steps but decided to fix my standing posture before learning to walk again.

slight knee and ankle soreness but no pain.
left calf muscles feel less stretched when i am standing. seems like muscles are adapting to the longer legs.

13th day after removal. Started using the walker to walk around. legs feel heavy for each steps. No pain. Still hard to stand up straight because i am unable to balance myself. physiotherapist said it is due to my weak legs.

Noticeable improvement everyday. I would say i am recovering well.

17th day after removal.

Balance has improve. Muscle tightness have also decreased. Able to stand and walk around the walker instead of using wheelchair.

Muscle tightness is still 7/10 when just waking up. it decreases to 2/10 after walking for 1-2minutes

22 days after removal.
Legs feel stronger. Tried walking while just holding my physiotherapist hand. The walk is easy but feel slight 1/10 pain in left leg ankle area. Using the walker to walk is easy now, I am able to walk more than 30 minutes without feeling tired with the walker. Calves tightness is gradually decreasing every morning after waking up albeit rather slowly. Hope to walk unassisted by the 60 days mark.

I think my scars are on the better side compared to people i have seen. my scars are flat, while theirs are bumpy. My pinsites scars are relatively tiny. Hopefully they improve in the coming months.

I only have a month left in vietnam... before I have to return home. I need to walk normal or at least 80% for my family to not suspect a thing.

I am going to increase the frequency of my rehab and improve my diet to gain back the muscles I have lost during lengthening. (legs still look skinny)

Rehab
- 2 hours physiotherapist
Additional
- 30 minutes nonstop walking with or w/o walker daily
- 100 heel raise
- 2 x 2 minutes standing on elevated platform

Diet
Morning
Milk + calcium tablet, omega 369, vitamin b12 supplements
Lunch
Rice + Egg + Protein (Salmon, Pork, Chicken) + vegetables for fibre + Orange Juice for Vitamin C.
Dinner
Same as Lunch

I will update every week on how this changes has worked out for me every week. Hopefully it accelerates my recovery.

Welcome any constructive feedback.

If you lengthened your tibia by 5 cm, are you 5 cm taller or less?
