Weird Air Pocket on Tibia 1 Year After LON (FREAKED TF OUT)
« on: April 28, 2023, 11:34:03 PM »

I had LON Tibias in Europe (not Turkey) Summer of 2022. I had the typical scars and markings that come with the surgery. But today I am terrified as all hell because out of nowhere this weird air bubble that looks a hot pocket appeared out of NOWHERE on my tibia this morning.

Its not a scar...I still have those but they have faded.

I can push down on it. It almost feels like a blister. It looks like a hot pocket.

I'm seeing my orthopedic doctor for a separate issue on Monday, but I'm still scared. What if its some bacterial infection ? Any Veteran LL's ever experienced something like this?

I've shaved and circled the bump for clarity.

Because it literally appeared this week, 10 months after my surgery, out of nowhere.

Nothing like it on X-Rays, not present on my leg in older pics, etc.

It is difficult to tell from the pictures alone.
If there is no pain at all, it may be the same symptom I experienced.
In my case, the myofascial release surgery caused the muscle to protrude and look like your leg.
It may be possible to have the same symptom without that surgery, but I don't know.
On the other hand, it could be drainage associated with chronic osteomyelitis.

If I recall well, my symptoms were worse when I strained my muscles or stood up.
If you are relaxed in the supine position and still have your current symptom, then it is probably not a muscle problem.

This is another reason why I would avoid doing LON. Their is a reason why pretty much every single western highly experienced surgeon dislikes and can't recommend LON. Is simply not really that safe as the more expensive internal methods.

it's maybe the fascia. But you need to see a doctor.
