You simply go get an x-ray.

For the first month, every serious pain gives you paranoia that you've damaged your hardware. Unless you disobeyed your Dr.'s protocols and you're being completely careless about your recovery, this is incredibly unlikely.

An X-ray is the only way to find out for sure. That said, from what I heard from my PT (who quieted my anxiety when I thought I did this), you would be in a whole new level of pain if you bent or broke a nail. You certainly wouldn't be on the forum typing :).

my physio pretty much said the same thing
there will be no suspicion of breaking it. you will KNOW
he said if you feel a sudden pain + clunk but it goes away its most likely the break up of scar tissue
but if the pain persists ( and is excrutiating) then its might be a broken nail

I've definitely had multiple times where i put all my weight on 1 leg accidentally for maybe half a second. I weight 150 pounds. Havent gotten damaged yet. I think the best way to tell is that if it lengthens you're good. I feel like it's pretty obvious if it is lengthening if you've been doing it for a while

Thank you guys for your answers. I didn't create the post, but this was definitly something I was concerned about too going into this. I'm really lightweight lol like 116 pounds / 53 KG, so if I follow the instructions (wheelchair / walker) I shouldn't have any issues.

nah you're good. the strength of the nail is way stronger than advertised. i think 75 pounds is when it is extended on max 8cm, and it is still probably like 85 pounds at that point. Also know it's your weight above the nail. meaning everything from your mid femur down is subtracted from your body weight.

Thank you for comments!

I accidentally weighed a lot on one of my legs when using walker. I felt acute pressure/pain on the knee but it disappeared right away, but then occasional weaker pain appears now.

If it's not severe and consistent pain, i guess it's fine?

Also even if it's not broken, if it's just bent, then it will eventually lead to misalignment of the lengthened legs, right? that's another that concerns me.

(I'm on tibia precice 2.2 and now am in my 2nd month since surgery.  i weigh 133lbs, and my implant holds 75lbs each)

*adding : remote controller seems to work w/o issues

Relax, you're most likely OK :)

Has any of you talked with and heard anything about it from your doctors?
