How much more cm?
« on: April 03, 2023, 02:47:55 PM »

If you lengthen the femur by 8 cm and the tibia by 5 cm, (8+5), how much will you actually grow? How much less than 13 cm?

in reality,  most people at the end will have less than they have lengthened.
The wayof your removable is different to most of the other patients. And you have only lengthened 5cm with your tibia

I don't think so, you usually gain whatever you lengthen unless the x-ray is wrong or you have some residual tightness. Have you done LL ?

The femur is lengthened along the anatomical axis rather than the vertical axis.  You'll get 100% of your new tibia length added to your new height.  There's a formula I don't know for how much height you gain from femurs.  I'm pretty sure you can find it on the internet somewhere.

Exactly. The femur bone is curved.

Going for femur precice2 / Lon tibia with Dr. Donghoon Lee in a few years.
Starting height 173cm. Goal 186 to 187cm.
You can always be thinner, look better.

L - L*(1-cos α) = height

at 8 cm you lose about 3 mm

What does the variable stand for?
i guess
L=lengthening amount
a = ?? the angle made by the slanted degree of femur and horizontal knee line?

is there name for that formula?

I wish people would just search for answers and posts on this forum before making a new one asking a question that have been answered 1 million times...
