Is it worth it at 5’9
« on: April 01, 2023, 04:46:42 AM »

Hi

I’m 5’9 on the dot.

I want to do quadrilateral lengthening but not overlapping, I mean maybe the 3-4 week one but most likely a year wait. Regardless, I want to end up at 6-6’1 in height. Is the difference worth it? If I could potentially be 6’2 is that something I should go for? Thanks

I dont think quadrilateral is worth it but a single LL might be worth it. unless your doing like 4+4 lengthening which I guess you could do but idk if thats better

not worth it, at 5'9 you're not short, you're taller than 90% of the world's woman population, hit the gym, invest that money instead, etc.

Only you can answer this question, it depends on your feelings.

In my case my biggest concern (5'8 1/2 ) is that I don't like my stature and how my body looks comparing to other people, it's not about finding a partner or if other people think that I am short or not. I want to be taller than 6' because I like it so much and I cannot change my mind (tried it, but I cannot), so in my case this surgery could make my life better.

Note: at this moment I'm only a "pretender", I want to know more about this interesting procedure. Hopping to become 185 cm (6'1'') from 174 cm (5'8 ½''), but it is too expensive.
My sitting height is 92½ - 94 cm (36''½ 37''), my length of legs is 81 cm (32'') and my armspan is 180 cm (70'' 7/8).

Depends on your goal! If it's dating your're not going to see any difference. Maybe som of the girls with the worst personality who is really shallow and cares alot of about not so important things as height is going to like you more, but why would you attract those types anyways? At 5'9 your're not going to be discriminated and going to be judged negatively either.

And why does what other people think matter anyways?

So you should only do this if you really want to become taller and suffer from height dysphoria and thinking about becoming taller all day every day, to boost your psychological state.

This coping bollocks has to die.

For a start, 99% of girls care about height. If you're short, and have a girlfriend, or a ONS, it's because she overlooked your height in favour of something else. It's not because they don't care at all. As for muh shallow, muh superficial, welcome to the real world, everyone - including yourself - is shallow. Everyone would rather date Megan Fox over Greta Thunberg. Being shallow isn't bad, it's a natural thing.

It's only "not worth it" around 6ft.

Wrong, 5.9 is not short and nobody holds it against you in a negative way

Some girls will for dating. You'll definitely have a hard time in some European countries at 5ft 9.

Inb4 "I don't want someone so shallow anyway". Everyone is shallow.

Note that I didn't say its impossible to get laid at 5ft 9 (or even less), but it's a notable disadvantage vs being 6ft. To deny that is really like denying that grass is green.

Wouldn't say it's that much of a deal breaker. You'll still be taller than majority of girls.

Anyways, do the surgery if it will improve your outlook on life. Don't do the surgery just on the basis to impress more girls.

To be blunt, if you can't attract girls at 5'9, being 6'0 isn't going to help you much either.

Too much binary thinking going on. A 5ft 9 height is a disadvantage. It's not a deal breaker for some girls. It's definitely possible to have a decent sex life at 5ft 9 but you'd have a better one at 6ft all other things being equal, as you'd get access to those girls the height would be a deal breaker for. Being 6ft over 5ft 9 will attract some girls you wouldn't have previously attracted, as well as meaning you'll have to try less hard with those who were attracted anyway as they'll now be even more attracted.

Dating prospects is one of the major things that will affect "outlook on life" so it can't be brushed aside.

5ft 9 to 6ft is definitely worth it but I'd say 5ft 10 is about the cutoff where the rewards aren't really worth the tradeoff. If I was 5ft 11 I wouldn't bother.

If your goal is to date more girls, yes. You could date a lot of girls with 5'9 if your looks are good, but obviously at 6 foot the dating pool increases a lot.

I'm 5'8.5 and I just got it 3 weeks ago. At our height, even though it's not terrible as if we were 5'5 or 5'6, you cant deny we still hear short king sometimes. It's more so society now days being stupid, even if we are near average. I decided to get it and I will be 6'0 and with shoes probably near 6'1. I no longer have to hear anything that has to do with short and have second doubts about it because I know I will not be. And this is a life long, life changing fact I will deal with. Am I insecure? sure, but will I be insecure when I am 6'0, absolutely not, so why not go for it if I have the means to do so.

For reference, I chose the Precise 2.2 and aiming for 8cm on my femur. Easily the most bang for your buck. It's a harsh surgery and the hardest recovery you will go through for the next 6-8 months. But you're talking about a life time of benefits. This is not just for girls, I'm sure at 5'9 you have no trouble getting most females. Sure being 6'0 your pool of females expands by probably 20-30%, but that's not enough to justify the surgery. A lot of patients I've seen at the clinic are older men who are already married and have families. They just want to be taller because of the more respect they will get from just...people. Terrible society we live in.. it's like being racist for height. Nothing we can control, but yet still engrained in our society. But I have the means, and time, and I took action to change it.

5’9 neither short nor tall for a man. I personally would prefer someone more handsome over a taller one. It's not all about height.

No one said its "all" about height, that's just a strawman you've created in your brain.

Saying a girl might prefer someone handsome over someone tall means nothing. They'd prefer someone tall AND handsome over anyone who only has one if those boxes checked. Everything matters.

I don't really give a fk if someone is "only" doing the surgery to get girls. That's every bit as justifiable a reason as the desire to get "respect" from normies, or the feeling that it'd advance a career or anything else. 5ft 9 to 6ft would still be worthwhile.

I have asked multiple people I know who is around 5'9 if they have ever been called short and none of them had. Again at 5'9 the only difference it's going to do is maybe fixing your height dysphoria and getting the last 10-30% (depending on the country) bitchy girls with a terrible personality and bad morals to date you cuz they need a guy taller than average, even tho most of these ain't a 10 themselves. This is the reality. If these are reasons to do it, then go ahead. Why would even care about what other people think? You have to decide wether it's worth it for yourself personally, we can't do that for you.

Whether you've been called short or not doesn't really mean much as most people aren't going to be rude to your face even if they're not attracted to you.

I've been on plenty of dates with girls who, after meeting up, I wasn't attracted to at all. It was still incredibly rare I'd tell her she was too ugly to her face, I'd just ghost her afterwards instead. The same thing usually happens when a girl isn't into you - you won't get told why in such direct terms in most cases.

Saying all the girls who want a tall guy are just bitches etc is just coping nonsense, everyone,  both man and woman, wants the best that they can get.

It's a perfectly valid reason to do the surgery. Personally, I'd put dating success higher up the priority list than "other normies at my wage cuck job will respect me more", since that's just like bragging about being one of the most respected slaves on the slave farm IMO, but clearly everyone has different motives for doing this surgery, none are really "wrong", it depends on what that individual values.

Yeah literally people think being handsome or tall is mutually exclusive. Like dude my face is gonna stay the same,  but I can potentially increase my height.  Height is part of “attractiveness”.  So is personality and all that. It’s a combination of everything and it’s NOT mutually exclusive. If you have the means why not improve a “quality” of you.

Google what short king is. I agree 5’9 isn’t short because it’s just below average in USA. But society and its heightism will call average short. Obviously not the same treatment as someone who is 5’6 but you still subconsciously think about it sometimes.  You stand in line and the majority of dudes are taller than you. Maybe you just want to be above average and if you have the means to do it, then do it.

I still don’t understand why people bother to guess absolute height thresholds for doing LL.

The final decision is completely subjective and literally entirely depends how insecure you are about being 5’9 and how much willpower you have towards actually getting it done.

Yeah I'd say it's worth it. 5ft 10 is about the cut off where I'd say the risk-reward starts getting unbalanced, and I flat out wouldn't do it at 5ft 11.

5ft 9 to 6ft is a huge difference though, get it done OP.

LL at 5.9 worths only if you have plenty of money to go to a respectable doctor and live in a country where the average men height is at least 5.10.
And of course quadrilateral at that height is a joke.

Almost noone is able to distinguish between a 5.9 and a 5.10 guy who is taller. The most muscular guy would look the bigger between them and most.people would think he is the taller one too.
So if LL is not worth at 5.10 then it is still doesn't worth at 5.9.
Yes the difference between 5.9 and 6ft is big but if you look bad at 5.9 (ugly face, skinny or obese etc) you will look as bad at 6ft and no woman would date.you only because you are taller.
But if you already look good at 5.9 then becoming 6ft will make you the date king. However, most good looking 5.9 guys don't even think about things like LL and just live their lives happily.
