Nerve pain in right leg 11 months after surgery
« on: January 30, 2023, 03:39:28 PM »

Hey all,

I’m 11 months post Precice 2. I gained 8cm. Throughout my surgery, I experience nerve pain in both legs. However, my left leg is perfectly fine.

I still experience nerve pain in my right leg. It’s typically when I stand up or sit down, I feel this hyper sensitivity around my knee and it goes up my inner thigh. It’s definitely gotten better over the consolidation period and my surgeon has reassured me it will definitely go away. But, it’s definitely depressing given that I sometimes will limp upon standing up and what not. I stretch everyday and have full flexibility back. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this or had knowledge on it.

To better describe the pain: it typically happens when I stand up or sit down, or after I’ve been walking for a while. It occurs in my knee, a hypersensitive sort of high pitched pain, then it’s this light nerve soreness that occurs on my inner thigh and the odd times on my shin.

Yup i have this too, I’m post op 8 months but I got nerve damage because my surgeon made me lengthen too fast. Our best bet is time. Nerves recover slowly.  Do you have sensation in your leg and foot? Do you have all the movement?
I lost sensation in the sole of my left foot due to lengthening too fast

At what rate did you lengthen?  Im currently at .78mm per day.  Hoping to keep this pace without any issues.

What was your lengthening speed? Surgeon?
I think its probably because of weight distribution. Your weight was on nail before, now bone it self carrys it. If you removed earlier than total bone healing you might feel pain as you stand and walk because during these movements your body weight is on your femurs. This is what i think. Of course its better to visit another surgeon and get an opinion.

at first i was lengthening slow, no problems, altering between .75 - 1 mm per day but then the butcher doctor told me speed up ur left leg because its lengthening slow. thats when i got nerve problems, still have nerve pain :/ . At .75 , u won't get any issues. make sure u stick to it, a month late doesn't matter. Prevention is better than Treatment

Yeah man, it’s quite depressing. When I go from a standing to sit and vice-versa position, I feel a hypersensitivity in my knee and then pain in my inner thigh when walking. Most of my flexibility is back. My surgeon said it could be an issue with hamstrings and core weakness. I’m really hoping this resolves over time, cause this is depressing.
