How long can I expect to return to normal walking and regular activities(not including running and sports) with the guitchet nail?

I plan on having my femurs done by 6-7cm with dr Giotikas and was wondering if I could return to basic activities possibly before a 4 month period

you cant just come in here and ask a basic question like this and expect to be taken seriously

is guichet weight bearing? I think it should be like 6-8 months, shorter end if WB, longer end if not

It varies patient to patient….

Usually younger, fitter, without complication patients can get back to walking normally unassisted  even at 4 months post op (I met with a couple myself and there’s a handful of diaries which shows that)
These are just a few (lucky) ones

The “average” typical patient that’s doing 8cm and doesn’t have major complications can expect to be crutch free (and comfortably so) at around month 6-7 post op.

The rest are the ones who either slack in their stretching and general excercise h, have complications or overlengthen …. It’s a bit unpredictable there.

But keep in mind we’re talking about going back to normal life as in no sports… just normal basic functioning without any sort of external support

Its amazing how much you recover even in just 1 single day when lengthening.....until you f*ck up your legs again repeatedly.  Like this morning Im walking around without crutches (definitely limping).  But ill click in a bit and then theres no chance Im doing that again until tomorrow morning.

I cant wait until lengthening is over and you get to just pile on days of recovery.  Dreaming of this already.,
