NO DOCTORS WILL BE MENTIONED.
Hi there everyone,
I did LON on my tibias and since I had a 1 cm discrepancy on my left leg, I lengthened it to 7 cm and right leg to 6.
So Up until 5 cm, everything was aight. My right leg had reached 6 cm and we stopped lengthening it. ( I was lengthening 1mm per day). so after that my doctor told me to speed up my left leg's lengthening to 1.25 mm per day and he told me that we'd slow down as soon as i get nerve pain. So about after 5-6 days of doing 1.25, I got nerve pain and then he didn't ask me to stop but told me that i should lengthen at 1 mm again. I didn't know about this forum back then or else i could do proper research that we should do only .75 or .66 for the tibias. However, I was given gabapentin and the nerve pain went away. cool!

Another thing to note is that I had a lot of ballerina so I got ballerina surgery too, on the same day as the frame removal.
Right after frame removal. I noticed that my toes are CLAWED. and i had crazy nerve pain in my foot , it felt like its on fire and that something very tight is squeezing it. After that i notice that the sole of my left foot is fully numb. but i have nerve pain there.

It's now been 2 months since my frame removal. I'm definetly better than before but the nerve pain is still there. I'm taking gabapentin for nerve pain and Ibuprofen for normal pain.

My question is, What is causing this foot numbness? my sole is still completely numb and when will the nerve pain go away? It's super uncomfortable

7 cm is maxed out , you LLed too fast , nerve pain can not be treated .In your case , just hope your muscle heals then the pain goes away .

When I was doing femur and I had knee pain . I told my PT , he told my doctor , my doctor's assistant told me to stop LL just to be safe , I declined .

My doctor took a knee X ray after and told me I was fine  . Then my knee pain went away after I get home .

One thing I learned from my experience is that if anything happens , take a break from LL and let your body catch up .

"I had a lot of ballerina so I got ballerina surgery too" wouldn't that be fixed by itself just by walking around?

Probably your doctor irritated or damaged the peroneal nerve during fixator removal. I believe there is no treatment for that. Usually inexperienced surgeons does that mistake Dr Paley was mentioned about it once.

Might be more to it than just perineal nerve. If the whole of the sole is numb then there must be an issue with the tibial nerve. This suggests more of a global nerve picture due to fast lengthening, but could be a bit of both

I do not think so, if it was more than his leg would have paralysed.

When can i expect the pain to go away? the nerve pain is super annoying. I'm getting an MRN (Magnetic Resonance NEUROGRAPHY) soon to see what the hell is actually going on

Yeah, Seems like the tibial nerve is disturbed or damaged. i had a NCS conducted which showed Dysfunction of the same. Getting an MRN soon to get a clear picture

Maybe the tibial nerve is compressed through the tarsal tunnel only. IN that case i'd need decompression

You can't explain the sensory loss without the tibial nerve being affected.
