Ex: what are the advantages of staying for longer than 3 months and are they worth it or does it have too much diminished returns?

I heard that tibias take a long time to get to full consolidation, not sure how this works

I'm still trying to decide whether to stay in Athens 4 vs 5 vs 6 months after the tibia surgery, I can afford 6 but I wonder if at some point there are greatly diminished returns for staying extra time

No point in staying with the doctor post-lengthening period in any internal nail.

ty!!! After the lengthening period is finished, is the chance of a complication very low? Or what's the rationale?

My biggest worry is going to the USA after 3 months, getting a complication, and having difficulty finding a doctor willing to help me. So far, I've found it difficult to find any USA doctor who wants to get involved even for x-rays after I get back home to the USA (which is a problem because Dr. Giotikas says I must send him x-rays)

The other thing I am thinking about is maybe I can lengthen slower if I stay longer than 3 months in Athens. For internal tibias, I heard that there are some advantages to lengthening slower (ballerina?) and that maybe bone growth is slower in tibias so you might be able to get away with slower lengthening and not worry as much about pre-consolidation? Or is this wrong?

Why not go to Dr. assayag in the US? I don't think he'll say no to you.

not sure he does x-rays for people who are not his patients though, seems like I'd need to find a reason big enough (like a complication) to become his patient?

I'm doing gnail femurs now in Athens and every single USA orthopedic doctor I've talked to (not yet assayag, haven't heard back from the email I sent him a few months ago) refused to do the x-rays when I come back in the USA because of a variety of reasons (international, cosmetic, they don't do that surgery, they didn't perform the surgery ,etc).

Just get an x-ray done at a 24 hour clinic and don't tell them about your previous surgery.
