1. Is this safe? My doctor mentioned it was an option (to have the gnail for femurs removed and then also put in the precise 2 nail in to the tibias on the same day) but I just sort of wonder "wait so then don't you have double the fat/marrow particles released into the blood, and what was that thing about the complication Paley mentioned for fat emboli or something?"
2. Is it brutal/difficult to have to recover from two surgeries simultaneously? It seems like I could do them on the same day or stagger them by a few weeks, I'm not sure which is better (ex: how much money simultaneous would save versus any extra risk it could pose)
A forum member gave me this advice:
"Nail removal recovery is much easier. You only need forearm crutches
for 2 weeks at most after nail removal. It would be a good idea to use
a shower chair while showering for 2 to 4 weeks after surgery. And
just be cautious while walking around for up to 6 weeks after surgery.
After 6 weeks you are completely healed and free to go."
3. Should you use the pedal machine shortly after this double surgery (femur nail removal + insert tibia nail)? I may be able to get a small pedal machine to the hospital, I had stiffness problems post surgery for femurs, so I wonder
