I feel this is different by person like your question is basically the equivalent of saying " What is your favorite food? ". Obviously you should tell the person that you trust the most and that you know will keep it a secret if it needs to be. For me I told my parents and gf but noone else since for me I am 100% sure my cousins will gossip a lot about it.

I'm not telling a single person. Too risky and even my family members love to gossip.

How much are you lengthening?  Think you can really keep it a secret?

Thing is the doctor forces all his patients to inform some family member and get consent.

I am not sure whom to tell. I dont trust anyone to keep quite and not tell others.

is there a way to make a family member understand to not to tell anyone??

Maybe hire someone to pretend to be your family member?  I'd imagine that the doc won't be running a background check.

Find another doctor. It’s really none of his business.

Im telling nobody but am almost certain I cannot gaslight my dad.  Hes extremely perceptive and I will go from being shorter than him to taller than him.  So that will be fun to deal with.  My mom and sister will have no idea theyre too short.

start wearing big boots with lifts around your dad 24/7 to get him accustomed to at least a 2 inch height increase, he will start asking you in the beginning and then get used to it, then you can do the surgery

in my case people around me had
a). a minimum cosmetic intervention like nose job and they know the feeling of getting over an insecurity so they understood 100%
b). they had a minimum surgery that involved pain and they treat me good knowing how painful was for them , imagine how painful my surgery was.
c). friends and family who didn’t liked the idea but because they love me they accepted and been supportive (p.s. i told my family after the surgery to don’t keep them in stress during )
d). people who judged (oh, you did this for what? are you happy being disabled for so long now? you don’t look taller)

you say, yes . fk them.  people who will treat you bad are not your friends and you should take the opportunity to notice  and get them out of your life. people who love you will always be supportive.
