A quick history lesson:
There was a forum just like this one, whose name is auto-censored here (this was a search engine related decision. The owner of LL Forum didn't want to help the competition).
The old forum had an actively posting owner, and then was taken over by member Apotheosis, who was also an active poster there. They had a list of recommended doctors. One of those doctors was suspected to have financial dealings with Apotheosis, and so some members lost trust. They decided to start a new forum: LL Forum. The founder posted here for a while but then decided to step back so that there would never be even an appearance of impropriety that would damage people's trust in this community. He continues to pay the bills to this day because he wants there to be a trustworthy, non-commercial support group for people getting this surgery.
And if you're wondering how I got this job, I had a popular diary on the old forum that was cut short due to a falling out with the original owner back in 2007. I still checked on the community every once in a while, and when I saw this revolution taking place I was happy about it and wanted to contribute to finally taking that place down. I rewrote my original diary and then continued to tell my full experience. This popular diary from a 7-year (at that time) veteran was the only unique LL Forum content in the beginning, other than anti-Apotheosis stuff from people who hadn't gotten LL yet. The owner of LL Forum made me a moderator even though I hadn't asked to be one, just to add some credibility to the administration.
