Hey guys I'm new to this forum, so this'll be my first post. I decided to make an account on here so that I could read and talk to people who are doing LL or will be doing LL. I am a 16 year old female and I have to get Limb Lengthening. I am not getting LL done cosmetically because I don't necessarily agree with it. Anyway my story is different than all of the stories I've read on here so far. Unfortunately my left leg is an inch or so shorter than my right leg. We don't know why other than the fact that on my left leg I am also Knock Kneed where my leg curves inward at the knee, and I have flat feet. In January I found out that my left leg was shorter by about an inch than my right leg, and that it was causing me to have a 20 degree curvature in my spine causing me to have Scoliosis and it's been painful and annoying for me over the last few years. My back hurts a lot, it pinches up and tightens up and I can't hardly move for a few days, and my legs touch when I walk and get tired really easily (mostly my left leg, although I've improved with that). I first went to my doctor about my legs a few years ago, my doc sent me to PT for awhile but it didn't work. I waited awhile to go back to her and at that point I was having more back pain. She wanted me to do PT again but I didn't feel it would be helpful (because of her reasoning) so she sent me to a Podiatrist. The Podiatrist couldn't help me so I got sent to a Surgeon of some sort. That Surgeon couldn't help me either so I was going to get sent to one of his "Surgeon Friends" but our insurance wouldn't let me and I got sent on our local Army Base (which was fine for me). I'm glad I met my Orthopedic Surgeon on base, he's been amazingly helpful so far. For months I had to wear an inch of insole in my boots (would only work in my UGGS, but ruined them by stretching them out) and also got a lift in my Nikes (unfortunately) and did PT again like he told me. I found out last Wednesday (June 25th, 2014) that I was going to have surgery on July 7th . I will have my left femur lengthened with the Precice LL I think. My surgeon also has to operate on my Tibia, since it's deformed and if we don't fix my issues soon, then I'll have to have a hip AND knee replacement by age 50.The last few years have been really difficult for me physically and emotionally. The shoe lift was difficult for me as was the look of my leg because I was and currently am uncomfortable wearing skirts, shorts and dresses because of my leg (I can hyperextend both my legs and the hyper extension makes my left leg look gross). Physically it's been hard for me to stay in shape (I've managed) but I have many setbacks because of my back, the curvature of my leg and the hyper extension and exercises that kill my back and leg.

So that's my backstory. I'm pretty nervous for the surgery and experience. I don't know what to expect with any of it but I completely trust my Surgeon. Anyway I'm in pretty good shape (5ft 3in & 117 pounds) and I'm pretty happy with myself, except for my leg. What is some advice you would give me before and after my surgery? What should I expect? How painful (considering I've never broken, fractured or sprained anything in my life haha) I don't know what my pain tolerance is also. I plan on updating this throughout my LL experience and debating on doing youtube videos.
