Is PT overrated/useless?

Had surgery like 2 weeks ago and still staying at the local clinic. I have PT 2-3 times a day Mon-Fri, 20 mins each. I find it a complete waste of time though, they will either fill these 20 minutes showing you 2 new stretching exercises (on top of the 10000 you already have) or they'll do some weird types of massages where they barely even touch you and you don't feel anything and there's zero effect. I've visited like 20 times and not one of those did I feel useful. It feels like a job even I can do after an hour of learning and it feels like they're trying to put in the least amount of effort possible to fill the time. I see everyone banging on about how important PT is and I'm just wondering if it's the way it is in here only or that's what people get everywhere because I'm due to go home soon. I wonder if I should waste my time and money searching for a physiotherapist in here because if they're the same, I definitely don't feel like paying 4 figures a month for this while lengthening on top of wasting my time. Please share what you and your PTs do/have done and how similar it is to my experience.

And to fit another question in - for stretching during lengthening - how much time do you spend daily doing it? My doctors recommend 4 or 5 sessions a day with each including 6 exercises done 2 minutes, 3 sets each

I feel the same way.  I went to PT about two times and then quit.  On my own I did standing pike stretches and put sand bags on my knees.  I was able to straighten my knees shortly after I was done lengthening 7.5 cm on tibias.

Your results may vary.

I think so, as PT is only a few hours a week. What is more important is to do stretches on your own.

Yeah, I think stretching is far more important. I really imagined PT being some intensive massaging and special stretching and whatsoever. If it's the same everywhere as it is here... pfft. Not going to spend a penny on that. How many hours do you guys stretch for? 3-4-5?

Not sure too much regarding tibias, but for femurs you absolutely had to to PT or you were going to just get destroyed with tightness and forced to stop lengthening.  I have seen the dorsiflexion braces that tibia lengtheners wear...so you can kinda "always" be stretching so to speak.  Such a thing doesn't really translate over to the femur portion.  And I think femurs may hurt more due to the size and number of muscles and soft tissue involved.  Correct me if I'm wrong, or if any has quadrilateral lengthened...tell me.

Yes femurs hurt way more.

It is easier to stretch out tibias than femurs on your own, but nothing really replaces a good physical therapist manually manipulating your ankle joint for an hour. The problem is at many PT places, they only touch you for a couple minutes and try to have you do warmup and strengthening for the rest of the sessions.

Here's my experiences. For femurs, PT is very important. Stretching and strengthening so many large muscles around your hips and femurs, and restoring your walking gait, are crucial.

I'm in the middle of lengthening my tibias and I see PT requirements to be considerably less than femurs. With tibia PT, you are primarily focused on stretching your calves to fight ballerina foot (i.e. restore dorsiflexion angle) and the muscles around your knees. Also strengthen the muscles and bones from your knees and below. Once I'm done tibia lengthening, I probably only need a PT to restore my dorsiflexion angle as much as possible and strengthen to consolidate faster. This will probably be one month at most after lengthening is done. After that I should be consolidated enough to use the slanted calf stretching board to stretch my calves. No need to have a PT restore your walking gait because the muscles around my hips and upper legs were hardly affected.
