BTW, is there another surgery for Tibias at the end of lengthening.
I heard it is called “syndesmosis screw” between fibula and tibia should be removed.
Are you aware of it?

The “syndesmosis screw” between fibula and tibia should be removed in the same surgery to remove the Precice nail from my tibia.

The pain from the tibia surgery was a little more than the femur surgery, but still manageable. After over one one month, the pain was about the same. PT for tibias is definitely easier and less time consuming than femurs. I'll make a future video on lengthening femurs vs tibias.

So the Syndesmosis screw is not removed after lengthening.
It is removed when the Precice nail being removed.
No adjustment is required after lengthening?

This is a limb lengthening forum. I am not planning to go over my entire life, just the limb lengthening portion.

But I can go over some basic and general questions. Yes, the HP house is fully handicap accessible. The Sinai PT center has an indoor pool for hydrotherapy, but it is closed for all of 2022 for renovations. It should be open sometime in 2023.

Lengthening Phase:
7 to 10 days latency time after surgery, before you actually start lengthening.
First 3cm: 0.75mm/day = 40 days
Next 3cm: 0.50mm/day = 40 days

To lengthen 6cm tibias, expect 3 months.

Consolidation Phase:
Depends on if you have the medium 50 pound limit nails or large 75 pound limit nails, your body weight, healing ability, nutrition, and commitment to physical therapy.
Assuming you have large Precice nails and are not overweight, probably 2 to 3 months in consolidation until you can use forearm crutches.
With the medium Precice nails, add one more month.

I'm only in early consolidation phase, so these are estimates based on research. If there is a Precice tibia lengthener who is done or almost done consolidation, perhaps you can provide more insight on the consolidation phase.

What kinds of stretches would you recommend people do/practice before internal tibia lengthening? I know that Dr. Paley said the stretching data says the stretching effects only last for 24 hours but for someday in the future I sort of wonder what kind of stretches might be good to practice just to get a feel for them

I can give some insight on this. I lengthened for approx 4.5 months to get 5 CM on tibia. Now I am 2 months into consolidation and I am technically allowed to full weight bear. However, fwb is still painful, so I use one crutch or walk pretty normally using 2 crutches for balance.
