will lengthening shorten life? What do you think?I read about Nathan, he lengthened totally 30cm and died so young.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWvzS9sMjGw
Nathan Yoder died from cancer, not because of the limb lengthening surgery.https://www.pumphreyfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Nathan-Justin-Yoder?obId=12878030He started his limb lengthening surgery in 1997 and finished in 2000 or 2001. He died in 2020 at age 38 from cancer, which is 2 decades from his LL surgery.
In 1997 he was 15. I think that's too early for LL. He could grow taller without LL. In the past, is it ok to do LL under 18?
He was an achondroplasia dwarf. Like all achondroplasia dwarfs, their growth is severely stunted and growth plates closed at a very early age. I'm sure Nathan's growth plates were determined to be closed via X-rays, so they could proceed with LL surgery.
