https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfk/comments/u22wu5/leglengthening_surgery_is_available_in_more_than/

Shows once again the importance of using lifts prior, going with internal femurs and then doing scar removal.

But even then, no guarantee.

I read the comments, they commented this reminded them of Gattaca. Is that the only movie that has to do with LL as of now? Haven't been watching movies for a long time.

So a lot of the comments on the thread are making fun of his arms but I honestly don't think they look that bad. If they had seen the guy by himself they probably wouldn't even notice. The comments piss me off because it's like Leg Lengthening bingo: "It will be over a year until you can walk again". " You won't ever be able to run again" "Your bones will likely shatter several times over the remainder of your life" "Weather changes will cause pain" "You'll have glass legs" Those are just some of the comments. It pisses me off when people who have no idea what they're talking about act like experts. Also if I took a drink for every time someone mentioned South Park in that thread I'd have died of Alcohol poisoning

Maybe their ignorance is good for us and should be encouraged.

My bones don't shatter constantly, weather changes don't cause me pain.  I must be this tall naturally, then. ;D

True, the more misconceptions there are out there about it, the more rare it seems even if a lot of people have heard about it.

Is this forum we are on now still the best place to ask LL questions? Or more active communities exist?

The fact that you have to ask should tell you that it is.

Luckily all the people here are gigabrains for wanting to break their bones and go through the torturing procedure of slowly stretching their legs over several months in order to become a few cm taller - and pay up to 100k USD for it. Oh and there is a real possibility to not being able to walk again properly. Just read your comment again carefully and think about what you wrote. Coming from a non-normie. This forum can really be a echochamber at times.

I understand the choice people here made or are thinking about making isn’t easy to understand. It’s not a few centimeters it’s 8 which can be a big different for someone people. Also the only risk you have of not walking again is if you go to a bad doctor. Doing this surgery made my life a lot better. Try imagining being unable to go out without people pointing at you or laughing at you and thinking about having to deal with that for the rest of your life or doing this for .5 a year.

Kind of harsh coming from someone is 178 CM, while wanting to become taller by 13 CM.  If we are Gigabrain, what are you then? Super Duper Gigabrain?

Not, this is cosmetic limb lengthening surgery:
https://online.boneandjoint.org.uk/doi/full/10.1302/2046-3758.97.BJR-2019-0379.R1
It's a scientific method that allows people to modify their bodies.

This is not a "echochamber post", it's a link to a scientific document.

Note: at this moment I'm only a "pretender", I want to know more about this interesting procedure. Hopping to become 185 cm (6'1'') from 174 cm (5'8 ½''), but it is too expensive.
My sitting height is 92½ - 94 cm (36''½ 37''), my length of legs is 81 cm (32'') and my armspan is 180 cm (70'' 7/8).

The ad that Dr. Mahboubian shows also has the patient barefoot in the before picture...and wearing shoes in the after picture.  Just saying.

100k USD isn't the end of the world if you have a good job, know how to invest properly, and have good parents/relatives to loan you money.

Despite Redditors claiming to be "smart" and "informed" their occupations are laughable so I can see how 100k is a lot to them.

Yeah the general public is not very good with money. Even many with high income don’t know how to build wealth. With that said, nearly all prospective patients won’t have $100K of disposable wealth at the age which LL would benefit them the most.

This is the truest thing that I've read all year — especially the last sentence, it's genuinely saddening honestly. Better to be late bloomer than to have never bloomed at all...

unbelievably stupid response, possibly one of the dumbest I've seen with regards to LL.

You're very young and you have time on your side. Try to get a CS degree at a decent 4-year program or if you can't get the financial aid for that, attend a boot camp that charges tuition only if you get placed, then try and get a few years of experience coding. By the time you're 21-22, shoot for a FAANG job. Entry level SWEs in the Bay Area make $200K/yr total comp. You'll be able to save up quickly for LL, then just work from home while you're lengthening.

Im accepted to college for a CS degree and ill be able to pay for the degree no issue.

I want to be a musician/producer but it simply doesn't pay enough for CLL at least from what ive seen in general unless your absolutely huge. Isn't FAANG pretty hard to get? with 200k a year in the Bay Area I could just live modestly for a year (my lifestyle would prob only cost me 80k a year in the Bay Area I could imagine, I can survive off basically nothing especially if it meant being able to afford CLL)  and then I would be able to go to Paley. From what I saw entry level software engineer only pays 100k which would mean 3 years of saving at least

Yes, it's hard but if you can get an internship during the summer you should be able to line yourself for a good tech job in the bay area. You should be able to hit $160K as an EL out of college ($200K at Google/FB). Of course, some of that is equity so YMMV, but better than doing some other career and not getting any RSUs or options.

True. CLL prices are already high because we have a very large demand and a very small supply of qualified orthopedic surgeons. If so many more people weren’t so ignorant, then demand would be even higher, and the high prices would only grow higher.
