I saw this. CLL should not be covered in news, how its is now is perfect. If your height is causing you enough distress to deserve CLL, you will find it. Even now there are too many seeking CLL who don't need it or don't understand how serious it is. I do not understand and cll at 5'8/5'9, just get the right pair of shoes you will be average or tall even, I understand being 6' is desirable but really nobody with a brain is looking down on you for being average or just below. It's not worth the pain and risks past 5'7 in my opinion. Regardless of that, if CLL becomes popular (it won't now, but the improvements in the next 50 years may be great...) this whole thing becomes a nightmare. If everyone gets CLL, nobody gets cll.

Thanks, Buzzfeed.  >:(

Thanks for sharing. I read the story of a man doing LL. I don't think he was short before LL. According to the news, a man, 25 years old, named Scott who works for digital media was about 5'7, 5'8. He gained three inches from the surgery. I was confused why his colleagues made fun of his height since he wasn't short at all.

this is so bad.. this and also those who promote LL on instagram. LL cannot be mainstream..it wont be done by many due to the prohibitive costs but the knowledge about LL cannot be widespread to those who dont really need it :(

The cost for modern LL should be less expensive than it was decades ago right? It should become more less expensive in future.

No.  The cost of medical treatment continues to rise faster than inflation.

The price for LL procedures in the future will never go down because of the nature of the surgery. The cost overall has been very steady for the last 10 years due to lack of skilled/motivated surgeons entering this field + the surgery itself is very difficult for the patient and surgeon so there aren't that many demand ( at most surgeons can do maybe 2-3 surgeries a day + patients are expected to do 6+ months of rigirous pt schedule).

Now unless there's some breakthrough that let LL to be done more easily/fast and allow patients to go back to their routine tasks in less than a month I would say expect the price to be increased steadily ( especially with newer medical tools like precice 2.0).

This was the same trend for corrective eye surgery back in the 70s/80s with RK where they used 8 sided blades that leave visible marks in your eye ( lot of pain, expensive/experimental procedure, months of vision complication, etc ) -> then PRK came along in the 90s where it removed many cons of RK, but there were still months of vision rehabilitation and required lot of surgeon intervention -> In the early 2000s LASIK just revolutionized the corrective eye surgery market by essentially removing all the cons of previous procedures and drastically lowers the complication period to less than 1 month -> Now in 2010+ there's SMILE which is basically the same as LASIK but removes the flap creation so it's safer/faster healing although it's more expensive.

This trend isn't true for elective surgeries, though.

Of course, they interviewed all the usual suspects in the LL community.

LL is never going to be mainstream and you can tell based on the comments on these types of stories.

Does this mean I have to get tattoos to conceal the scars or is surgical scar removal enough for internal LL scars?

Get the surgical tattoo removal, then tattoo over the small revised scars.  It's the only safe option.
