Have you experienced osteoporosis in real life?
« on: April 12, 2022, 12:55:08 PM »

I think it is something similar to bone fractures. Have you experienced anything like that? Not by LL. Could happen during exercise, car accident and so on. Could happen due to getting older. If you did, how did you deal with it?

Osteoporosis is not similar to a bone fracture.  It is a reduction in bone density which can lead to fractures.

You deal with it by taking mineral supplements and drugs, and doing weight-bearing exercises.

Nobody here is old enough to have experienced osteoprosis.

Thank you for the explanation. Car accident or any other accidents in real life could lead to reduction in bone density? Not just due to aging?

Hopefully there will be new treatments for osteoporosis in future.

The best treatment for osteoporosis is preventing it

Get plenty of vitamin D, minerals and protein. Exercise is important as well.

Osteoporosis can also afflict men. Infact , the current estimate is that 1 our of every 10 men over 50 has either osteoporosis or osteopenia.

Since men are not screened for it like post-menopausal women, it's not caught until they fall and break a hip or vertebrate.

Being sedentary, not eating enough and having low testosterone can cause low bone density in men.

If you want to prevent bone issues, make sure to get at least 1000mg of calcium a day, get your vitamin D levels up and supplement vitamin K2 and boron.
