Day 34:

Lengthened: 2,4 cm
(real value)

I went to the doctor's checkup, X-rays were taken.

As a result of the x-ray, my left leg is within normal values, but my right leg is 1 cm shorter.

Left: 2.4cm
Right: 1.5cm

Before the surgery, I knew that there were different situations like this, so I didn't worry.

If this happens to you, don't worry.
This may be due to the fixator device.

My doctor disassembled the device, lubricated it and reassembled it.

So what happens in these cases?
You will continue the lengthening process in the same way, after the process is over, lengthening is made for the other leg inequality.
Do not worry about this problem.

Apart from these, I have groin muscle pain in my left leg for the last two days.

My next doctor's appointment is in a month.

that's all for now...

The two upper nails of the fixator are bending.

This has nothing to do with the fixator being lubricated or not. If the bending doesn't stop, the doctor should replace those bent nails. Maybe they will from now on stay that way and not bend any further, who knows. But as for now, the reason for the gap discrepancy is the bending. Don't take this too lightly.

Thanks.

I don't know about this.

when turning the right side 90 degrees, it was difficult to move (10 days)

maybe this forcing might have bent the nails.

it moves very easily now.

We'll see at the next doctor's appointment :)

Day 49:

Lengthened: 4 cm
(+/- may vary)

the clock alarm is ringing... it's 6:00 in the morning

My sleep is very irregular these days.
Even if I don't have pain but the fixator is very annoying.

 Anyway, time to lengthening.

Today is different from other days.

It's kind of a joke.. but I'm halfway through the process.   8)

 Time goes by so quickly.

 4 cm left.

Muscle tension etc.  I have no pain.

As everyone knows, the real hard process starts after 4-5 cm.
We'll see what awaits me in the remaining days.

 I have a doctor's appointment in about 2 weeks.
I'm curious about the real values.

I wish success to everyone who is in this process.

 That's all for now...

Good luck, did you have xrays in any time after the lenthening, or will be your first time?

Except  the forum subject,
I will go to the doctor in 2 weeks.  Then an x-ray will be taken.

Day 52:

Lengthened: 4,0 cm

(real value)

I went to the doctor's checkup.

X-ray was taken, my actual lengthening values according to the X-ray are 4 cm.

I am not currently working with a PT. (not recommended)
I'm going through the process myself. Everything is under control for now.

As everyone knows, muscle stretching etc. in the process. Movements are very important.
If incomplete or excessive force is applied, it may affect the process and even cause the process to be stopped.

If you are considering having this surgery, it will be very advantageous for you to start these movements months beforehand.

These days, there is tension in my hamstring muscle.
I need to work harder without overworking this muscle.

My doctor told me to do the  lengthening 3 times a week for muscle tension. (3 x 0.25)

Next week I will do the normal lengthening again.

My knee bending good. I don't have a problem.

In the coming days, I will share my current knee bending picture with you.

That's all for now...

already +4cm, that's good to hear! by the way in your 4cm xray it seems the top part is bent much more compared to the 1.5cm xray. what did your doctor say?

Yes, there was already a bend on the right side at first.
My doctor said it doesn't matter.

Lengthening continues according to normal values.

I need to solve the muscle tensions before that  8)

I compared the before and after pictures, there doesn't seem to be much bent difference.

at least a total of 1 hour per day.  sometimes 10 or 15 minutes every hour.

I was doing general training for an hour, not too hard.
 Tensions increased after 4cm.
 Especially the hamstring muscle.

I do more hamstring exercises now.
These movements are essential for comfortable stretching.

I can easily do the movements that the PT will do on my own.

My process is knee bending etc. and  my situation is under control.
Every day I evaluate the situation with my friend.

In case of any problem or to get information, we immediately consult my doctor.

So I didn't need PT service.
if necessary, I can call the PT.

PT status varies from person to person.
Every person's age, muscle strength, muscle height, flexibility, etc. is different.

A separate PT work plan should be made for everyone.

Incorrect PT may do more harm than good to the patient.

the formation of callus varies from person to person.

i take the necessary vitamins, etc.

The process continues under the doctor's control.

We may see this in the future.

Day 58:

Lengthened: 4,5 cm
(+/- may vary)

Lengthening continue and 5 cm is almost reached.

As I wrote in my previous post, my status for PT is under control and so far I have not needed PT, I hope not :)

My left leg is slightly behind my right leg.  The strong one is my right leg, so it's normal.

After 4 cm, the hamstring muscle begins to stretch.  So don't forget to do hamstring workouts.

After a certain lengthening, the nails begin to put more pressure.

For me, the nail bases started to hurt more when moving.

 I don't use daytime  painkillers.
I use painkillers to sleep comfortably at night.  (paracetamol)

Other than that, I have no problems.

Thanks.

 No, it's a short episode.
Just to show the current state of my body.

As I said in my previous message, I am doing a lot of hamstring training now.  (not in the video)
Because it got really tense.

Every hour, 5 minutes warm-up then 10-15 minutes training. (like 1 hour total)

 Usually during the daytime.

Day 70:

Lengthened: 7 cm

Happy news...

My lengthening process has progressed faster in the past time.
(There may be +/- situations like this)

Now I am coming towards the end of the Process.

Right leg coming from behind. Therefore, I trade left 2 times, right 4 times.

There is no problem, no pain in my right leg.
The only problem with my left leg is that I can't get my foot straight. I'm training for this.

I went through this whole process on my own.
My knee angles, movements, etc. evaluated by my doctor. I didn't need PT.

According to the state of the process, my target is 7.5 cm or 8 cm.

That's all for now.

Thanks for sharing the photo. Rehab usually is a difficult process right? A successful LL depends on how one does in rehab.

Yes, rehabilitation is difficult. This is a difficult operation.

It is necessary to train.
You should not interrupt the training because it is difficult.

To get rid of pain, you have to suffer. Sleepless nights, pain when moving, etc.

Classic phrase: No pain No gain

I wanted to write something about PT.

The physical condition of the patient is important in this surgery.
 Patient's age, flexibility, muscles, etc.

Generally, PT applies a standard schedule to everyone.
It's like giving everyone the same food, but not everyone eats the same food.  Some dishes touch the person and make you sick.

PT is serious business.  A wrong application can do more harm than good to the patient.
The whole process may be affected because of this mistake.

PT needs to be planned individually.

So pay attention to the PT service.

If necessary, inform your doctor about this situation.

Day 85:

Lengthened: 7.7 - 7.8 cm

I'm at the end of the lengthening process.

Left leg lengthening finished, only right leg lengthening left.
(6 days, 2 times a day)

On June 7, the last X-ray and fixator removal surgery day.

I was able to finish the whole process without the need for PT.
I don't have a problem right now, just my left leg is weaker than my right leg. It will get stronger over time.

But everything is not over yet, the second process is waiting for me...

Day 106 - removed fixator:

I had surgery for remove fixator.

I finally got rid of the Fixators who had been with me for months.

https://imgur.com/3XCsKvq

X-ray:

https://imgur.com/Hc5v8Tj

I stayed in the hospital for 1 day and was discharged.

It is difficult to walk with a walker in the first days as it is a new condition. I was walking slowly and not exerting full force on my legs.

After 4-5 days, the pain started to go away gradually. My movements got better.

There is no problem with my knee angle. Right now, only my knees are broken, my feet are not quite straight. I started training to fix this.

https://imgur.com/SMV2S39

Sleep: Now I can sleep better at night. I can't lie on my side completely. Sleep without fixator and fixator makes a lot of difference.

That's all for now.
