If time, cost, etc. isn't an issue, which one would you choose and why?

Clicking can be extremely painful, but I just don't see how the hell could I have done this without weight bearing. I'm almost 6 months post op with G Nail and I think I will be able to start running soon. That would be impossible with Precice.

Go with Paley all the time if cost is not an issue.

Go with Paley all the time if cost is not an issue.
Why this ?
Paley does not even operate anymore , maybe just one leg n he does not do follow ups .
Question here was precice or gnail n I don't want neither but I would do staged precice 2 ,or g nail ;no precice 2 bilateral .
Problem with gnail are the surgeons who use it,according to me.
If I was you and wanted to get the surgery asap, I would do staged precice 2 with a good surgeon .

At least Precice is actually "Precise" I always knew how much I had lengthened with my Precice 2.2, there was no potential for "clicking in your sleep" as with G-Nail.

I don't know if most of the good surgeons offer staged. Paley doesn't. I wish we had a list of surgeons who offer this.

The biggest problem with mechanical nails is you cannot reverse it. What happen if there's non-union or nerve damage? you're screwed

I don't think non union is that common, at least if the surgeon is good and does regular X rays. No one in Greece had that problem when I was there. I did have nerve pain, but stopped clicking for a few days and it went away. The biggest problem for me was excruciating pain while clicking.

I think it's more for a practical reason and because Paley has a lot of patients and bilateral requires more follow ups and attention from the surgeon and he probably not willing to since he barely talks to bilateral patients as well .

The thing with Paley is that you're not paying for the man himself but for the world-class institute that he built. You are surrounded by staff that does LL all day every day. They know their stuff, they've done it a thousand times (literally)

Paley himself doesn’t do followups unless patients have severe issues, and this can be big problem. At first I thought it didn’t matter because Paley would be there to resolve severe complications with his extensive experience. However the problem is, other doctors who do your followups may not detect the issues! This happened to me and another LL patient in this forum. Our issues were only noticed by Paley, and luckily it was not too late and our tiny issues didn’t turn big. If not detected on time, I may need additional surgery and the other person may have bone fracture… which are pretty severe
