You should not let patients neurosis or budget pick.
You ,the surgeon, should allow only safe (or currently safest) methods ; BBL it's considered the most dangerous cosmetic surgery n its death rate it's way lower then LL so a good surgeon should allow just the safest methods (not the easiest but safest) to undergo this surgery given it's high risk rate of everything compared to other surgeries .
Yes, this is logic and should be even one of the basic criteria to chose the surgeon. There are many surgeons who perform more than one method but consider only those with the same relative safety. For example, in TIBIAS, they may perform both pure externals or LON, and they explain both to the patient. If the patient says he won't tolerate too many months in frames the surgeon may still accept LON, altough just a bit more expensive (if he doesn't speculate with prices) because he has to buy the nails. But still, they explain to the patient if they have, as doctors, a preference of method in that case.
To.offer everything, like LON on femurs, based on price "promotions", to "catch" more "clients", is dangerous and not ethically acceptable.
Furthermore that practice is negative for the surgeon to gain experience and specialisation on less methods and sometimes only on one segment.
There is a surgeon in Vietnam whom I contacted, rarely he has western patients (and doesn't make publicity) and he even refused to do LL on me. He only does LON on tibias, for example. (He refused because I am 5 years older than his oldest patient to date and he considers not enough safe, or doesn't feel comfortable doing it, being clinically afraid of poor consolidation).
