21 y.o rn, an age when boys must not be short. 16 y.o, the age when I ceased to grow taller.
17. Surgery early june, second one a year later, should be wrapped up by the time I start college
Yes. First one will be early June this year. I'll say what doctor I'm going with when I start my diary (in US with Precice nails)
I'll miss a little bit more than a week this school year, and am planning on going virtual for the first few months of the next school year.
My school started Zoom classes at the beginning of the pandemic. This school year, they allowed students to choose between Zoom or in-person, and if someone tested positive for COVID they had to go on Zoom for a week. So I'll just be on Zoom for the first few months of the next school year to finish recovering.
Did you ask your parents to pay up and they said yes or did you need to convince them?
I see. Internet does make things easier for everyone when a pandemic happens or people who have to stay at the hospital for a while due to big surgery. Back in my high school and university days internet connection was still an issue. We were using dial up modem to connect, it failed many times. The connection strength would be inadequate for webcam learning or long distance learning, not sure how people call it. Will you write a diary of your rehab from surgery on here? Like others doing right now?
Age : 19 (Transitioning from 1st to 2nd Year University)Planning to get surgery : No idea, preferably mid 20s.Growth ceased fully after age of 13-14. Dropped significant amount of percentiles by the time final year of high school rolled around.
Yep, that’s me, too. I jumped up from the 85th percentile (which I was in from ages 0–11) to the 97th percentile, then I fell down to the 15-20th percentile. My goal is thus, of course, to reach the 85th percentile of my growth charts again minimum (so 5.5 inches/14 cm total lengthening).
Without any judgement, just an honest question, how would you feel if, for example assuming you live in the USA, if you were (or if you are only able to reach safely)176 cm tall?
I would feel better, but I still wouldn't feel totally adequate.
Neither will I even if after Paley's Option 3 I can only get up to 178cm barefoot but we can just call it a day or you wanna go further waiting for Stimulate Transcranial Electronic Magnetic Therapy coming up in the next decades?
If I can get taller, then sure, that's great, but let's try to be satisfied with what we can get.
If that therapy can come out before I hit old age then I will for sure give it a shot but if I can't even walk normally due to the degeneration as I age then this kind of therapy cannot make sense then.
I suspect things like that could happen in time; what height would you consider to be your ideal/goal?
That things won't happen in our lifetimes?
