The Term Transhuman
« on: January 01, 2022, 12:03:05 AM »

Recently I am trying to find articles about a term transhuman. I am trying to get a better understanding of what transhuman means. The term caught my attention when I read someone doing limb lenghening. If a person did limb lenghening, would that make him transhuman in some way? As far as I know transhuman means someone using technology to make him better.

Happy New Year 2022!

In general it means using technology as a means to human evolution - expanding the scope of what it means to be human.

LL could be considered low-level, current, practical transhumanism.  On the other end of the spectrum it encompasses far-fetched things like uploading your mind to a computer.

I 100 percent agree with you. With better understanding of LL and technology, people who did LL could be considered legit transhumans. I really like this term "transhuman."

I was thinking another thing. Is cosmetic surgery considered, in some way, a way to turn someone into transhuman.

I would rather be not a human than being placed in the bottom of hierarchy of the society.

I am a bit confused. I know being short makes life a bit harder sometimes. But, you don't enjoy being a human who enjoys life like everyone else?

Do you know any good transhuman related movies that you recommend me to watch? Is Terminator considered transhuman movie?
