Is tibias more painful or Femurs?
« on: December 04, 2021, 07:00:04 PM »

Why do some people say femurs lengthening hurt 2x more than tibias while others say femurs are better? What is the consensus?

Femur is better for overall recovery but has more muscles therefore it's more painfull .
Tibia has higher chances of complications but have less muscles and it's easier to stretch therefore a longer recovery but an "easier" journey pain wise and stretching wise .

Tibia lengthening is less painful but calf muscles are more difficult to stretch. They are smaller but very strong. They can get tight really quick and it’s often very painful to stretch these muscles during lengthening.

According to my reviews, physiotherapy is specially important in tibias, for example to avoid "baillerina feet",  extra surgery for tendon lenghtening or peroneal nerve release.
Furthermore, altough Guichet is often criticized for having a physical one month preparation "useless" , (and Paley doesn't want to include that 'annoyance" (my words) in his commercials), everybody should start stretching even BEFORE surgery.
