Do you think about the height of your potential future son?
« on: December 04, 2021, 05:53:24 PM »

That topic goes more to really short men and not to the slightly below average/average guys on here  :)

We all know, unfortunately, men who are noticeably short are discriminated against in society. If it weren't like this, if this forum wouldn't exist. Women are not really affected by this, otherwise there would not be more women on here.

Limb lengthening can make you taller, but your genes will stay the same.
As a parent you (hopefully) want your child to lead a normal life and not feel bad about something he can hardly change. So what do you think about this topic, with the desire to have children and the thought of maybe having a short son?

What are the options out there? I've been thinking about it a bit:

- Don't get children with a below average height women? But what you do if you fall in love with one? It's also not a certainty, your genes can still dominate.

- Adopt children? It's not that easy btw

- IVF (artificial insemination) with gender selection to get daughters only

- Take the risk and hope that your son grows halfway normally. Perfect nutrition, sports like swimming classes as early as possible. But what if he's unlucky in the genetic lottery and his final height is estimated at 5'4" or something like that? HGH treatments are very, very expensive when you buy the hormones from the pharmacy, 1000€$ per month and this over years. The affordable option would be to buy HGH from China and look for reasonably good quality.

What do you think about it?

Greetings and have a nice weekend everyone  :)

No, it is pretty much random +/-3 inches of the father's height. I've seen many people way taller than their below average height father, or guys who ended up a decent amount shorter than their tall parents. The nutrition and sleep during puberty matters more if you are at least of normal height range.

My father is way taller than I am (I stunted my growth due to external factors) so I'm pretty sure my biological children will be taller than I am provided that the person I'm marrying isn't too short herself. So this issue doesn't really concern me

Honestly if my son is not growing at a normal rate HGH might be the only option. 1K per month for 2-3 years is not of a big deal at the end when you are ready to spend 100K to break your legs

Either accept the fact that he must do LL like me or just let it go.
Nothing special. In addition I don't think it's necessary to reproduce for once since my country is occupied as fk by population.

In my case, no, but that’s because I have “tall” genes; my height was stunted through other means (precocious puberty). Still, I can date a taller woman (around my pre-op height) to ensure my sons have the easiest time in life.

Hi guys, I was following the discussion, I wanted to ask you a question, I hope it is relevant:

_ in your opinion, how much does lifestyle affect the final height? That is if, for example, a boy has never practiced sports, and has never eaten adequately both in quality and quantity, if the same boy had practiced sports since he was a child and had eaten more, milk, meat and all healthy foods, would it have grown 5/6/7cm more?
obviously I ask because I see myself a little in this question unfortunately, thanks for the help.

No, those generally aren't going to have any effect. Only true malnourishment or some kind of growth disorder is going to affect your height growing up by any measurable margins.
