Suspecting another person I know of did LL?
« on: May 28, 2014, 04:35:28 AM »

Ok now I may have probably been on this site for awhile now, well I have read more than post. Now this is probably going to be more off topic than anything so I will post this here.

Now there is a guy I know personally. Everyone calls him tall and the man himself comments on how he is tall almost daily. Infact he is 187 cm tall or 6 feet 1.625 inches tall as I have measured him myself. Now one day he was wearing his shirt tucked in and I kind of noticed that his legs were quite long compared to his body. Though his femurs were very long for pretty much anyone.

Now one day he told us a story about how short he was when he was a kid. He never grew and was always short. Infact he said he was 5 feet 5 inches tall(165 cm) himself  at the age of 16 and claim that he grew atleast 4 inches in college. Now he said he graduated High School in 2007.

Now I noticed he never talked about his college days much and infact he never shows any pictures before 2010 or during high school really.

I am starting to believe he did LL on his femurs for some reason. There are also other things that could point to this.

1: Now I think 7.5 inches of growth after 16 is rare naturally. On average a 1.5 is common.
2: His shoe size is 11 to 11.5 USA. My shoe size is a half a size smaller and I am 170 cm tall(5 feet 7)
3: His brother who is a weak 6 feet even has a taller sitting height than him and his brother is also skinny meaning he should be at an advantage in sitting height, but he is still shorter.

Either that or I am pretty paranoid now.

Have you ever expected someone of doing LL once? and what you think of this?

Does he ever wear shorts?  Have you noticed any scars?

I have sat next to guys on the train that I thought may have done LL.  I have a sitting height of 91 and was sitting next to a guy whose sitting height was probably 86cm.  We stood up to get off at the same stop.  I am 167 and he was about 177.  People come in so many sizes and proportions though so I am not sure if he lengthened.

I haven't known anyone well though that I suspected of lengthening.

Well he rarely does but he is so hairy on his calves it is impossible to tell really.

Also his dad is about 5 feet 9 to 5 feet 10 and his mom is well alot shorter than he is and well alot shorter than I am. I can see over his mom's head when she isn't wearing heels and I am 170 cm. She maybe 5 feet 2 at the very most. He claims that he has no tall family members really as well. Though he has a big head and his dad does as well.

I suspect that the 177cm guy must have been slouching on the train in order to give the impression of possessing such a short sitting height. You must have also been simultaneously sitting up in a relatively erect position, giving the illusion of a taller sitting height. Just a theory though, as I, myself, have frequently mistaken taller people for having shorter sitting heights than mine until the truth became apparent when they sat up very straight. Sitting height is almost always 51%-54% of total height. In my experience, there are very few exceptions to this.

1) I have a really short sitting height of 83 cm at 171 cm tall. Some people have thinner pelvic bones or just shorter spines.
2) 11.5 shoe size is within the range of normal for him. Look 1" below 75 and you'll see he's perfectly normal. Actually, the average for his height is exactly 11.5. http://www.statcrunch.com/grabimageforreport.php?reportid=30241&image_id=660733
And that's even with it being skewed by one outlier who had size 16 shoes. So anything 11 and up is legit.
3) I also never talk about my college days because, frankly, nothing really happened (sadlife.jpg).

I wouldn't suspect him of having anything done short of seeing surgical scars. *slaps you* get a hold of yourself, Jimmy. Don't let your paranoia tear this family apart again!!!

Do his arms seem short for his height?

If you do find out that he actually did get LL, somehow, don't tell the world that you suspect it. Sharing it on the forums is fine as long as you keep the emails anonymous, but let people be under the illusion that he is naturally tall in real life.

You wouldn't want someone exposing you after you do LL, would you?

There are a lot of people out there who have long legs, short arms, and short torsos.  Unless they've had two surgeries, knee height might be a giveaway though.  If someone has abnormally high knees, they might have done tibiae, and abnormally low knees might mean they've done femurs.  My knees are now the same height as my 6'3 uncle's, for example.  That's not something that's going to be occurring naturally.

That's one of the reasons that I've decided to do femurs. People who have really long legs for their heights tend to have abnormally long femurs far more often than abnormally long tibiae. Still, long tibiae do look very good, I must say, even if it almost never happens naturally.

Long femurs look great man, especially when I wear tight jeans / sports pants for fitness. But then I wear shorts and I look like a kid again; because I have short tibiae  :D

I think longer tibia look better than longer femur, but on the other hand i think longer strides would be better than shorter strides, and longer femurs give longer strides..

Well you cant have it all.  8)
