Thanks dude. What do you think would be my likelihood of facing that if I'm 22 male never smoke never drink am healthy?
My advice is stay away from moneyhungry doctors and butchers.
The healthiest person you could be but if a doctor make faults in your surgery then it doesn't matter at all.

So my most important advice to any future LLer is to choose his doctor wisely.

Thank you so much. Really appreciate it. And also thanks for going out of your way to help future LL'ers. I wouldn't have even been able to think about this surgery had there not been people like you. Thanks a lot.

What is your opinion on safety limits? Is 6 on tibias with external device doable?

Limits are almost always a function of your age and fitness. While some can recover fully from 7cm, others have problem with 6cm. You have to assess your own progress.

Lower age, more fitness = the more you can lengthen.

There are cases of post-operative foot drop syndrome, especially in tibia surgeries. I don't think there is direct contact with the nerves, but paralysis develops as if the nerve was cut, does anyone know about this? Could it be due to severe edema?

this is typically due to lengthening too fast. Failure to recognize the early signs of nerve injury and failure to slow down/ stop lengthening.

Direct injury to the nerve is not impossible. especially when lengthening with external fixation and not being completely careful..

So external fixation is riskier than internal fixation? Are there more complications with internal fixation?

it’s not riskier… that would be a simplistic conclusion.

They’re both safe, in the right hands. A good limb lengthening surgeon should not be a one trick pony.

Lower age, more fitness = the more you can lengthen.

lower age does not in any way mean more fitness or the more you.can lengthen - how much more? than what? what is lower age?  - nor is it a 'function' of age or fitness - it may be a result of fitness at any age etc...
